What benefit could there possibly be to region-locking your mobile game? Is there additional red tape to cut through for a worldwide release?

Hopefully this gets localized by the time I have a phone good enough to play it. That, or PC/console.

There's a lot of SDOJ-style chatter during the stages and they got pretty decent voice actors so I imagine they probably think it's important to find an international publisher who's willing to dub the game for them.

Open Settings and go to Store. From there, choose Sign Out if you're already signed in and then sign back in again. If you were not signed in, sign in now. Now check the App Store.

No, on ios you can have a separate Japan account and you can sign out and sign into it to buy Japan apps and switch between the accounts/stores all you want. The apps will work on your phone regardless of which store you are signed into but if you are signed into the Japan store, when you check for app updates to your English store apps they won't show up and vice versa. You can buy Japan apps with a Japan Apple money card by finding someone there to buy you one and then sending you the code for paypal. I did a tutorial on setting up a Japan account way back in the Donpaccin days that is still on youtube. I'm not sure if they updated ios into making it obsolete but I doubt it.
