Hishouzame doesn't suck but it's hella antiquated, too much for many people's tastes here.

Some things just don't age well at all.
Let's not let nostalgia cloud our judgement on whether the game is good or bad.

That works. I prefer Special, but the smaller hitbox does make it rather easy.

It's not an option because then playing for score will consist of punching people in the face for invoking that goddamned meme. Which isn't even in the AC version.

If all the games are so terrible...why are they the choices?

Well, I have no opinion on any of these games, but the one team member that felt like making a recommendation said V-V, so it gets our vote.
Look at our friendly members:

I am so going to enjoy this week, assuming I don't end up like with Gradius games where I hit a wall to some early stage.

I sorta like checkpoints in the sense that they encourage learning sections instead of just BS'ing them. But yes, checkpoint milking is dumb.

Mameinfo needs an update.MAMEinfo wrote:This would be Ikeda Tsunemoto's first game at Toaplan. He went on to become a founding member of Cave, where he still works as a lead programmer.
