Oh also I should mention the Megadrive/Genesis is the only console where I have to turn output frame lock OFF on the Edge before it works properly, going directly or through XRGB3 B1.
Looking forward to hearing your Neo Geo results. What TV do you have?Artemio wrote:Can't wait to get mine... I am broker, but my brother bought one for me as a Christmas present. I am particularly interested in the Neo Geo performance which sounds great
Hopefully I will join you next week with mine. Want to play Odin's sphere.
Fluctuates constantly between 59.33 and 59.42.Your MegaDrive was weird, with a 25ms audio delay on the Edge, right? What does the Edge say about refresh-rate when you are playing MegaDrive?

The menus are actually in english now
Ringing on SNES is gone, but the genesis problem still exists.
The Kramer doesn't soften the image (and I'm picky about that). There's just the general issues with color info being lost when converting from RGB to YUV. No color bleeding/blooming with the FC-14 (unlike the inexpensive units on eBay). So yes, I still say the FC-14 is defacto (looking for the least possible conversion loss).SGGG2 wrote:@ RGB32E
Depending on the set, problems with noise, improper scan area, I've used two VGA/Component transcoders (Audio Authority, HDFury2) and they soften the image quite a bit. PS3/HDMI > Fury2/component looks *exactly* like YPbPr direct from the PS3 so I assume it's near reference quality, it's difficult to image the Kramer being better, but I've been surprised before. I prefer using B0 over the Gefen for certain titles, hence my curiosity...
Thanks for the complement! Once I manually adjusted the H_SCALER setting (have to set it for each input/resolutionSGGG2 wrote:I cannot believe how sharp those 16-bit shots are. The XRGB-3's sharper on your setup?!

The pictures were from a revised SNES. The cable I used was a shortened SHVC-010 with polymer caps. I'll update with more info when I can...Fudoh wrote:@RGB32E: which SNES model do you exactly own ? And which RGB cable do you use ? Your Mario World shots are even sharper than mine. With an old SFC and the original Nintendo SFC RGB cable I get a tiny amount of smearing right to any deep black edges.
It's the same as on the XRGB-3 with dot_by_dot on and off. You will notice it with scanlines as well. You can switch to 720p instead (which I do anyway because of the ugly 1080p scanlines) or you can use the Zoom 2x function which will limit the output to 960 visible lines.I was just wondering if this is a 1080p output thing, and if it will be noticeable when using scanlines?
You have checked your setup without the SCART commander in the chain, right? Never underestimate a SCART switches ability to mess things up one way or another.Strange thing with the cable since removing the resistor though: the SCART commander switch now won't auto-detect the input and switch to it. I have to switch to manual mode and choose the input for the genesis for it to work.
I thought you were still having trouble with ringing and/or shadows round things? The picture is perfect, I was just saying that since I screwed with the cable
