i would be very happy if this mysterious hypothetical x360 port was announced first because youd think/hope that would be the more important one in everyone's eyes.
if this fucks with a 360 release i will bomba cave hq for 16x 10k medals i tell you what

Cartoon boobs.
As a non-iPhone owner I would have preferred to have seen this announced for 360, obviously, but as long as we get a port eventually it's not a big deal...hopefully Cave won't take too long to let us know that it (or something, at least) is coming in that area, especially after the semi-disappointment that was DeathSmiles II.

Considering Otomedius was on the High Score list for games that earned money with Downloadable content last I checked, and nearly none of said content offers additional cleavage of any kind, I'm going to say "no"
Of course we would all liked to have seen the 360 version.
What makes you think Cave will port the game to the 360 after this? As far as I know, they haven't said anything that suggests they intend to do so. I recall reading some time ago that they were planning two more 360 ports after Guwange and DSIIX, but who knows if that's still true. I wish I could share your optimism; DFK, Pink Sweets and MMP are the games I really want to see ported to the 360, and we all know about the latter two's chances.
I don't care one bit about iphone ports. I wouldn't buy them even if I owned an iphone (not that I want one). I don't play watered down shooters on touchscreens.
The more money and recognition Cave earns with non-360 port stuff, the more financial leeway they have for proper ports, and the more people will know about and be able to play them in the end. Whiners gotta look beyond their nose sometime. Cave is still loyal to you — if you look at their recent port actions, they've pretty much all benefited overseas fans in some ways: two region-free games, two international releases, and a notion that more stuff will be available international.
It's you who aren't loyal to Cave if making an easy profit on a popular new platform so that you could still enjoy your new arcade games later saddens you. For each of you who want a 360 port, there is also a guy who wants to play this game on his phone, and you probably think that you are better and your wishes should be a top priority while business opportunities slip away. Grow the fuck up.

I don't mind iPhone ports, so long as we continue to get console ports. But if Cave prioritizes iPhone ports to the point where they decide "screw console ports, we're already ballin' from iPhone ports", then I will set a powered-on DaiFukkatsu machine on fire in front of Cave's HQ.
I am sure that DFK is on development for X360. You will see I don't think that Cave will stop milking Xbox users. I think that this time around they've chosen to announce it first for iphone and in august they will do it for Xbox in their Cave Matsuri.
Just wait.
dieKatze88 wrote:Hence the hate for Otomedius, its not cave, therefore it can't be good. Nevermind the fact that its definitely more fun than the last 3 Gradius games released, or the fact that it did well in Japan, so there must be SOMETHING to it. Its Not Cave, therefore we don't want it.
Actually, the hate for Otomedius is because it's shit, as plenty of people have explained in the thread(s) about it. But don't let a little thing like listening to what other people have actually said get in the way of your ability to pretend you know what they think.
Meanwhile, this thread is hilarious. Cave bringing game to massmarket, multiregion devices! OH NOES.

can't wait for wii ports with waggle only controls next..... at least with the iphone you get a 3 or 4 inch screen thank god.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

We'll just have to wait and see. Until then, save the fire on Daifukkatsu machine for when Cave officially claims their abandon of the 360 (which may most likely not happen, IMO).

I'm kind of thinking so myself. To NOT have a 360 port at least in the works at this point in time would be sacrilege. Cave is probably keeping the 360 version on the QT for the moment. I'm confident we'll hear something by late this quarter or early next. I think the 360 port could be coming later if some HD graphics are being created for a 360 Mode- that has to take some time. Perhaps the 360 version could even have Black Label included.
God, yes, seconded. In fact, I already mailed them about this. Not expecting an answer but who knows. I'm probably seeing Death Smile II released if it really is running on PC hardware and not some weird japanese mutant machine. With tentacles.

thirded for truth; with a PC they could probably get 100% accuracy from PCB, and patch releases would come out MUCH faster
about hardware specs, they should be average for running the game 60FPS (something like 2GB RAM and at least Pixel shader 2.0 or 3.0)
Oh no, DaiFukkatsu is in no way more computationally expensive than a game like Half-Life 2 (2004!), and I ran that one at 60 fps on a 640 MB RAM computer with a 2 GHz CPU and a graphics card that can be gotten for $15 at this point. A modern PC is just so much more powerful than 13 year old SH3 hardware Cave has been using up until DS2 there's not even a chance a proper port will be slow on any system that was built in the last few years.

that's the same for me, i could run HL2 without any problems
back to the main topic, i wonder if the iPhone port will be DFK 1.5; judging from the trailer music that's probably the way it is
Fair enough then. I'm just glad to see I'm not alone in this. As I think I mentioned previously, I emailed Cave about this but I'm not sure I sent it to the right address (the contact one from the blog).
I wonder if they'll simplify things a bit for the chaining... and give more power to the power ship, heh. If this helps with the finances I'm fine with it.

I think I recall a long time ago Cave said they wanted at least futari, galuda2 and DFK on the 360? The former 2 have already been done with quite a bit more despite shit happening like the BLEX incident, and DFK is quite popular (shmup wise) in Jap arcades so I think it would be suicide for them not to put this out. Relax guys, DFK is only 2 years old and news that they're working on porting it at all (even on a shitty mobile platform) is better news than none.
Now if they go outright and say no 360 port all of us and our moms will take up pitchforks and torches to Cave's offices naturally.
Square King nailed this. People are whining that a port is coming to one suboptimal platform instead of another when they should be whining that Cave isn't bringing anything to the optimal platform for the port: PC and specifically Steam.

What's to optimal about that? Who likes gaming on PC? (though it's certainly still better than a shmup on iPhone)

(stares at his high score list nearly flooded with "PC STG" types)
I just ordered an iPhone 4 and Espaluda 2 is going to be the first app I ever purchase. I guess this will be another depending on how I like Esp2. The more shmups get out, the better the chance they get big.

This.
And especially if CAVE is actually trying to make money, PC is about the worst way to go about it, since the PC is beyond rife with piracy issues.
