Asada hinted at the possibility of an Xbox Live Arcade remake of chubby shooter Muchi Muchi Pork with a revamped gameplay system
Sigh...Does that mean no insect queens or gothic lolita girls? Well, not exactly.
"If we lost that, we would sort of lose what makes us Cave, so we'll have to keep that," Asada said.

I like the sound of this.Kotaku wrote:Asada told Kotaku in an interview that Cave is looking at global releases of its games, full-fledged Xbox Live Arcade titles of certain titles and Valve's Steam service as a means of distribution.
This game would be so fucking awesome. It could star Jedah's demonic savior baby, now old enough to be identifiable as a princess. Ah shit, just make a new Darkstalkers game.Taylor wrote:Darksmiles: The Vampire Princess confirmed.
IAMP is seriously like the best doujin game there is. Others like Melty Blood, Ragnarok Battle Offline, Every Extend, Trouble Witches, etc became commercial releases. IAMP deserves a shot.Aru-san wrote:It could be like those Touhou fighters

FUCK YES MAKE IT HAPPEN. Count me first in line to get it. Tell me where can I preorder. Given the amount of PC doujin shooters it would be nice to see the kings claim the crown.Maybe even to your PC
Too bad we also tricked him into believing we're a bunch of wapanese MAME-playing bums who would rather "collect" a digital download of an already available game than try something new.Taylor wrote:I think he's gone insane after we tricked him into believing there was a shmup market outside of Japan.
Yeah, too bad the Steam client is horribly bloated and consumes more than what Firefox ever will, though. Else I would support that.agustusx wrote:I Like the idea of PC releases since windows has outlived every console i've ever owned. I'd get a copy on Steam even if I had the console version for that reason. Steams not a bad service either.

DO IT.
no one will ever be able to beat it though lol
Keep dreaming. The media is terminally stupid when it comes to arcade games, and will continue (HURRR) to be for the indefinite future.mr_m0nks wrote:I just hope that if we do see more Cave (or other modern shmup) titles appearing in the mainstream, in the west. The general videogame media goes a little beyond the old "infinite continues, 20 mins of gameplay WTF?" attitude.
The game comes with 20 continues (1000yen bill through the change machine @ 50yen/play or a quarter roll @ $.50/play) and after you run out you have to buy more from PSN or XBL. Free play is unlocked after you 1cc the game.Udderdude wrote:Keep dreaming. The only way it would change is if they release a port that has no continues, at all, ever. Or maybe limited to 3 continues max.
Chances of this happening are pretty much zero.
I'm pretty sure you're underestimating the terminal stupidity of the media. If they released a game with no continues or 3 continues max, they would simply shred the game as impossibly difficult. Take a look at some of the old review for Gun Valkyrie for the Xbox, for instance. If the learning curve of the game is longer than the review period, the game is an impossible, disappointing failure, whether or not the reviewer has bothered to make it to the second level.nZero wrote:The game comes with 20 continues (1000yen bill through the change machine @ 50yen/play or a quarter roll @ $.50/play) and after you run out you have to buy more from PSN or XBL.
