I would like to highlight a few things for anyone looking to play this game for score:


  • The lock-on radar which appears on top of most large enemies isn't simply visual flair, as I first assumed. Instead, this acts as a timer and you are encouraged to speed kill.

  • Each stage has its own no-miss bonus worth 100,000 points. Or perhaps more accurately this should be named the no-damage bonus, considering taking a hit while shield is active will invalidate the bonus.

  • In a nod to the Darius series, hovering your ship over certain locations will give you point bonuses. One example is when you kill the enemy in stage 1 which resembles the tentacle monster from Thunder Force III's underwater stage, fly over where its "corpse" for 8180 points.

  • There are hidden 1UPs in stages 2 and 6. I'll take screenshots of their locations sometime and add them here.

Got a clear of this back in March. I think the latest version then was 1.2, not 1.2a.

Took a couple shield hits on final boss, but did not die. Had a death on stage 4, of all things. I think maaaybe I'll hit 17 million with a no-miss, if I'm lucky.

At least I died to the final boss this time. While I adore this game, I think I'm gonna quit for now. Lack of stage select is beginning to frustrate me.

Managed a no-miss run. I don't have the patience for a no-damage run, considering stage select isn't an option. Great game, though.

I assume this is the 1.2 a version? Folder says v12a.

Gosh, what an amazingly fun game. I'm not sure where there's a 1up in Stage 6 but I found the 1up at the bottom right of Stage 1 and the one at the top left hidden in the second ice chasm that scrolls upwards in Stage 5. And it's a pretty forgiving game too, so this is the sort of game that'd be great to get people playing when they complain that shmups are all bullet hell games nowadays.

I had a 16 mil replay I was happy with and was gonna upload but then I realized playing it back ingamr to record it DOESN'T SHOW THE ENDING and the ending is too good not to show off and I beat my score in the live run I recorded, woot.

Definitely calling this a love letter to all the classic horizontal shooters, especially Thunder Force series.
Playthrough-wise, I goofed quite a lot of sections up. Could aim for more.
Still significant as my first ever 1cc of all kigekiyahonpo/zakichi games tho.

And yes. STGBuilder & its games run well on Wine. (Not sure if this will ever influence the position of my score...)

No-miss run with too many damages here and there.
Expecting to get 18mil.

Once I managed to get x3 start on Stage 1 using max speed, whose run didn't end well that I had to discard it. What a shame. (This 21,439,120 run does show it's really possible even at 75% speed.)

Came here just to say I love this game, definitely one of my favorites. I hope to see more games from this developer in the future.
(Oh and eventually I'm gonna do a run of this)
