fufufu has been generous enough to share the run on YouTube for people to watch, if anyone here isn't already aware.

Unreal.

How long had he been on his previous 748m record? I'm pretty sure the record's remained the same since the first time I looked up Dodonpachi on Wikipedia.

I think WTN posted that scoring 780m is within the realm of possibility, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him keep playing.

Arcadia has stopped archiving and publication of new hi-score arcade. However, some players continue to improve their hi-score. I'm searching all twitter jap users to know all possible new scores. Someone have a list?

They just posted a notice regarding the omission on their website. That is the correct score.

Someone needs to get on that B-type and complete the hat trick.

My guess is that WTN and 漆黒の羊 have figured out a way to score more points on the 1st loop and probably 2-6. With WTN talking about a possible 780m score, NAL or someone should be able to push the B-ship score much higher.

Looks like the Strikers 1945 II WR holder is also on twitter. New PB from a month ago or so.

Unreal to see players out there finding ways to 'eat out' higher scores on existing old shumps titles. What's the WR on Strikers 1945?

What does 10,000,000+α mean? I've seen that in a number of scores, mostly games that I assume loop infinitely.

(japanese rule) in games with infinite loops the first player with 10,000,000pts win the target.

Gun Smoke = infinite pattern / bugs, in past I see 20,000,000 scores in some game center.
Sky Soldiers

World (JPN version): COFFEE INRYOU - 6.501.740 - ALL - Autofire ON
West: DEL - 3.741.150 - ALL - Autofire OFF
JPN version seems to have no infinite pattern, but is not emulated, so I can't check.
Vasara

World: TEN - 1.783.660 - ALL - 171 - Saiga
West: clp - 1.174.130- ALL - 171 - Saiga

Actual top is 1.803.700 by TEN with Saiga

Nice find! Always great when we get video of these world records, and even better when it's my favorite game of all time. Thanks for the link, Jaimers.

I've only had time to watch stage 1 so far but it's already changed my life.

^I've just watched most of it.
Two things to note: 1. This shows that Arcade 1.0 does give 10mil score extends on the 2nd loop. (Someone posted a while ago that it didn't, so I avoided trying to 1LC the 1st loop - Maybe its worth me giving it a go now  . You too NTSC-J).

2. He only scores 138mil on the Harahara loop, so I'm starting to feel more re-assured about my 186mil.

No, the second loop in 1.0 only gives you the first point-based extend. That's why he scores so little and doesn't try to milk.
