I like the style a lot: it's certainly "sketchy" looking, but also has a bit more of a "finished" quality to it when looked at close-up (the face and hair, in particular, look much more refined than the rest of the piece, which adds a bit of visual variety without looking too out of place). The monochrome look also works nicely with the Guwange subject matter, it gives it a bit of an "antiquated" feel.
Overall quite nice: was this done in the same painty program that Daigohji used for his Ibara "painting" he put up not too long ago?

Being a cartoonist myself, I can safely say the amount of time I spend messing around in forums and watching crap on YouTube could better spend on actually DOING something. Well...
Oh, and if there is a single game that really fits to that style, it is Guwange. Or Ikaruga. Well done, thumbs up! I remember seeing really fine artwork for Guwange on World Of Arcades, which relates to ancient japanese art as well.
