Very nice! I think the fox looks great, but the girl is phenomenal.
What medium did you use?

If I can motivate my lazy ass maybe I'll sketch something...

I like the style a lot: it's certainly "sketchy" looking, but also has a bit more of a "finished" quality to it when looked at close-up (the face and hair, in particular, look much more refined than the rest of the piece, which adds a bit of visual variety without looking too out of place). The monochrome look also works nicely with the Guwange subject matter, it gives it a bit of an "antiquated" feel.

Overall quite nice: was this done in the same painty program that Daigohji used for his Ibara "painting" he put up not too long ago?

Being a cartoonist myself, I can safely say the amount of time I spend messing around in forums and watching crap on YouTube could better spend on actually DOING something. Well...

Oh, and if there is a single game that really fits to that style, it is Guwange. Or Ikaruga. Well done, thumbs up! I remember seeing really fine artwork for Guwange on World Of Arcades, which relates to ancient japanese art as well.

Ah, that explains it. At first I thought you were using watered-down inks, but the edges were so precise.

I can't draw ships/mechs for crap. Organic subjects are no problem, but I just never got the hang of drawing anything mechanical or technical.

Maybe this weekend I'll draw something, I'm feeling inspired. :D
