[SOLVED] I am looking for someone who can do a small mod for me, please!

Post by Sweatlord_STG »

It's about playing PS4 with the Saturn controller. I was told it's easy, but I can't do these things unfortunately. I'd pay for everything, of course (shipping, hardware, labor, etc). You just need a PS4 to test it once it's done.

So apparently the mod goes like this: You take one of these and put one of these inside.
All you really need is a raspberry pi pico, and to remove all components on the controller PCB. Then stick the Pi down with double sided tape, and you can run wires from the Pi to the pads on the controller PCB. It's fairly easy :)
Is there anybody who could help?

BTW I reside in the UK.

Thanks.

What's the quoted text from? The misteraddons board shouldn't require any soldering or what's described in that text, you would just need to open up the controller, take out the old board, and put the misteraddons board in

The quoted text is from a message someone sent me who has done this very mod for themselves.

Are you sure? I don't have a Raspberry Pi Pico. There is also some kind of step involved regarding authentication keys. I have no idea about all this stuff.

I haven't bought that misteraddons board yet myself, but this is the description on the site:
CTRL boards are PCB replacements with a short USB-C female pigtail cable. Unscrew your controller, remove the OEM circuit board, optionally replace the rubber membranes (coming in 2024?), fit the Reflex CTRL PCB, route the USB-C Female cable, and re-assemble the controller. Users provide their own USB-C cable.
To add the DS4 authentication keys, I assume you would only need to use the Web GUI mentioned on the page, but you'd have to source them yourself (which isn't too hard if you know where to look, but I don't think anyone can legally give them to you). If you're not sure of anything, you can email misteraddons, he's pretty responsive.

Finding those keys is the least of my worries. I don't even understand what I'm supposed to do with them, and how. I would love to do the mod myself if there really is no Pi Pico required, no soldering, and nothing but a screwdriver.

The quoted text is from a conversation with me.

I never knew those Mister Add-on boards existed. When I did mine I removed all components on the controller PCB and soldered a raspberry pi pico to it.

@Sweatlord_STG just get that board from mister add ons and put that in a controller yourself. No soldering is needed at all. Couldn’t be easier :)
