[SOLVED] Playing PS4 with a Saturn controller

Can you please help me so I can play PS4 using the Saturn controller?

There seem to be two options so I am curious which one is better.

A: "Mayflash SS Sega Saturn Controller Adapter Converter for PC" + original vintage SEGA Saturn Controller

B: "MAYFLASH MAGIC-S" + Saturn Style controller made by Retro-Bit

I have so many questions.

1.) Are these two methods even correct like this?

2.) Which method has less input lag?

3.) Regarding method B - There seem to be different "MAYFLASH MAGIC-S" devices. Which one exactly is the one I'm supposed to buy? (link would be ideal)

4.) Also regarding method B - I already have the black wired Saturn style controller by Retro-Bit that's compatible with PC and the Switch (just to be clear, the one I have is called "Retro-Bit Official Sega Saturn USB Controller Pad (Model 2) for Sega Genesis Mini, PS3, PC, Mac, Steam, Switch - USB Port (Black)"). It has no home button or anything (so not ideal on the Switch), just the same buttons as the original Saturn controller. Is this the correct controller I would need for method B?

I have the Mayflash adapter, it has about 8 ms of lag, not too bad but not as good as Daemonbite adapter (can be easily made yourself if you know how to solder): https://rpubs.com/misteraddons/inputlatency

Thank you so much! I'll see if I can get one from Ebay. So this one only has 0.74ms of input lag, reportedly.

I don't think the DaemonByte adapter gets you what you want. It's mostly used for MiSTer and I would assume has a DirectInput style output, which would work on PS3 but not PS4. You need something to adapt to the PS4 controller protocol and make the system think it's a PS4 controller you're plugging in.

You could use that with either a Retro-Bit USB Saturn pad or an original Saturn pad plus DaemonBite Saturn -> USB adapter. Unfortunately brooke's site seems down right now but I'm actually not seeing that white PS3 to PS4 converter for sale anywhere... You could use the MayFlash adapter with it though if that's available.

Ah right, I must've been thinking of GP2040‑CE, which can be used with PS4 (if you can get DS4 keys)

Then there's a PS4 mode you can switch it to (though it requires you to find some authentication keys somewhere on the net).

I’ve done exactly that. GP2040 in a RetroBit Saturn controller to play on PS4. Works very well
