Gem/medal/shiny spawning
Any tips on how to make shiny shit look cool when it pops out of an enemy and gets collected? I'm having some trouble - look at crimzon clover, ketsui, games with lots and lots of shinies - this shit is happening so fast that i'm struggling to follow exactly what is being spawned where and when and with what movement speed and direction. Any suggestions/general ideas?

Look up "particle effects". Lots of random spawns. You'll probably find a library for whatever tools you're using.

The cited examples all "look cool": you can capture video on your PC and then study them in slow motion, measuring pixels to figure out animation timing.
