By the way, anybody have the slightest idea what game is this picture from? It doesn't look anything like any other FPS I've seen before...

If I am not mistaken, this screenshot was also a joke, it was supposed to be Doom 3 on a ZX Spectrum computer

I think it's supposed to be a C64. You can see the characteristic rectangular (not square) pixels and the colour palette is definitely the one of the C64.

Yeah, that's true, it looks more like a C64 screenshot indeed.

Funny, though it's really a shame no one actually attempted to make a Doom game for 2600. Although I'm sure it is not even remotely possible.

After a closer inspection I think it's supposed to be C64 fake-port of Gunman Chronicles for the PC:

Ehh, I dunno, if someone can make fake Doom 2600 screenshots, then why not? It might even prove to be pretty fun!

Because coding a game and making some fake shots in Photoshop are two very different things. You could take a still frame of Half-Life 2, digitize it, alter the colors and stick it on an NES cart, but that doesn't mean the system could actually handle Half-Life 2.

That said, Skeleton+ (or something like that) is about the closest the Atari has to a FPS.

According to the site, the shots were made with the Atari 800, not in photoshop. I do agree that making some artwork that looks like a game and making an actual game aren't the same, though. I like how Skeleton+ is in the GBA Activision Anthology.
