New to forum, looking for a particular game

Hi All

New to the forum, and love shmups, but am really struggling to find an old arcade game I used to play in the 1990's, over head solider based, two player game, think it was rail, not sure... a more modern ikari warriors, but will the wall of bullets thing, from time to time....

Any one have any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions guys, doesn't look like any of those though.
It had stages that had been more spacey looking, from memory, but some not so much
Man, my memory is rubbish, aside from having such fond memories playing this game lol

Not a game from the 90s, but the first thing that came to mind when you said "spacey" was Alien Syndrome.
Or the MSDOS game Operation Carnage. But that's, you know, an MSDOS game.

This kinda looks right, but the characters look bigger than I remember and I dont remember any cars / bikes, and it being a lot darker in colour and tone
