Re: KyuKyoku Tiger into Twin Cobra
I think (if my own copy of KT is any indication) that TC is quite common, especially since it's released in the US/World regions we live in, and KT is less common.

Go ahead and do the trade. There is a security chip that must also be changed. Simply swapping the ROMs won't work.

Re: KyuKyoku Tiger into Twin Cobra
Can you explain more about this security chip? I have a Twin Cobra and I want to change the region to KT. I tried burning the KT roms but it boots to a 'HW error'. Which chip is it on the board?

Antarctica doesn't have a thriving arcade scene?copados33 wrote:I can't trade it, I live in the "end of the world", I might trade it locally for a few loose Megadrive carts, there's no market for arcade stuff here in my country.robivy64 wrote:Go ahead and do the trade. PCB fault somewhere on the input section. To fix it you'll need at least a logic probe.

Re: KyuKyoku Tiger - issue with controls
You need a meter with continuity test to trace them easily, when you find that area of the board you'll need the logic probe to work out what's actually going on. I have a broken one upstairs, I'll have a quick look later. Bear in mind it will only be the starting point, tracing heat related faults is often difficult. It sounds like something is warming up and failing.

You're not going to figure it out without a logic probe, almost certainly.

Bit late to actually help, but I believe this is a known 'thing' [probably shouldn't call it either a 'bug' or 'feature'
] with the mk1 s ... maybe even on the manual/instruction sheet you used to get with them.
There's some talk on it in here:

God I hate superguns.
It's really, really easy to make one that works, with a plastic tub and an old cab loom. Despite this, there are loads of junk ones floating about.
