GunSpike/CannonSpike All Clear Demonstration
GunSpike/CannonSpike All Clear Demonstration
It's taken me 5 weeks to get down these patterns, and even then, there's still plenty of room for improvement. However, given that I know a couple of you out there enjoy this borderliner, I figured I'd post this replay that I captured on Saturday.
GunSpike All Clear: RockMan, 1758900 pts, Normal (189MB)
Please enjoy this demonstration.

This is what I was using... and in fact, what I predominantly use to play my DC games with (assuming they don't require analog):dave4shmups wrote: BTW, what controller were you using to play this game with? I'm still trying to find out how well DC shmups play with the DC analog stick.

I bought 2 of them (they were so cheap, I figured why not) and have had no problems with any of the sticks or buttons. They're surprisingly well-made.. just very basic.captain ahar wrote:^have you replaced any of the parts? if not, i can assume it works well given that you use it regularly.
i am skeptical given the price, but if its a good controller... instant joystick for gunbird 2, zg2, and cannon spike!

Thanks for that link, Kiken!
Have you ever used the "official" Dreamcast Joystick, like the one shown here:

I have one of those. They're awesome joysticks, if you don't mind the stick being a little "loose." I like the feeling, so I find it pretty much perfect, but if you like slightly stiffer joysticks, you might not enjoy it as much.dave4shmups wrote:Thanks for that link, Kiken!

Note that joystick or no joystick, I do not have Kiken-like mad skills.

Thanks for the info on the official DC stick. The one Kiken recommends does look a lot smaller, and more comfortable.
I'd still like to know, however, how good the DC analog is for playing DC shmups. I am still quite surprised at being told that the Game Cube analog stick works well with shmups.
Many thanks, Kiken! That is a wonderful swoop. I did have a question, though: on the aligator stage, why do you not use the tornado on those ninjas that take alot of hits (not that your tactic wasn't effective enough, heh)?
If I ever get my lazy but into it, I'll be sure and try and host your vid on my Rockman/Megaman site

Righteous Super Hero / Righteous Love
Mostly because the Tornado Hold has a very lengthy wind-up time and little range. I prefer the methodic repetition of the Rock Buster along with its splash damage when trying to keep enemies at bay and allowing for a quick escape.undamned wrote:Many thanks, Kiken!
