I tried TATEing my HDMI-capable 1080P LCD PC monitor... and while the picture quality looks great, the viewing angles are so messed up. Anything to the "right" (top) of the monitor is visible, but move your head at all to the left (bottom) and it's pitch black. I was planning to by a tate-able mounting stand, but if it looks like that, I figure my $50 can be put to better use on a CRT. That would eliminate lag issues as well.
So is a TATE CRT PC monitor really the best go-to solution for SHMUPpers on a budget? I know that authentic arcade monitors and professional video monitors with RGB will be superior, but I'm unlikely to shell out the coin for those at this time. It seems like many folks in the TATE monitor thread are using PC monitors, but I don't know if that's the monitor of choice, or if it's just a ghetto way to play tate MAME

So is it really worth hunting down a good CRT PC monitor and getting the hookups for my Xbox 360? Or should I stick with my LCD monitor?
