Nah ... games you 'love' aren't just games you like... Enjoy it all happily. Feed me steak its great, you'll still find me chomping on hot dogs... that unappreciative fing cat deserves to starveTrevHead (TVR) wrote:Like what point durango76 made if you start to feed your cat of prime cuts of salmon and chicken itll refuse the cheap catfood youve been feeding it for the past 5 years.
hehe that cat almost did starve. a cat i had as a kid was enticed away by a old neighbor who fed her better food that i was eating. When the old women died we tried to get her to come back but she wouldnt touch any kind of catfood we gave her. The cat nearlly starved untill the local owner of a family owned fireplace makers took her in as a ratter. i bet it cost him a bit to keep her though.gray117 wrote:Nah ... games you 'love' aren't just games you like... That's fucking stupid, honestly.Obiwanshinobi wrote:I understand Guwange, but (expanding the metaphor) DDP - nymphomaniac? Really? Try Dangun Feveron and Dragon Blaze - now THAT's what I call nymphomaniac. But then again, I'm strangely immune to (D)DP's alleged charms.
Why thank you and yes i amneist wrote:Glad you're having fun with them.
Out of the 2 games im finding my head turning alot more towards Guwange rather then DDP and thats to do with Guwange having the wow factor with allot more eye candy and unique gameplay compared to DDP. Plus many of the doujins ive played copy allot from DDP. But i do know that DDP will provide me more challenge in the long run because of the 2nd loop.captpain wrote:That's fucking stupid, honestly.Obiwanshinobi wrote:I understand Guwange, but (expanding the metaphor) DDP - nymphomaniac? yea i looking forward to playing esp.ra.de in the next batch of new shooters ill play. i hear its the easiest of all caves games to get a 1cc.Marurun wrote:Wow, just now getting to play older Cave games. That's like drinking off brand cola and then finally trying Coke. You should try out ESP Ra. De. if you like sporadic patterns.
Are you sure you're not confusing it with the first Espgaluda?TrevHead (TVR) wrote:yea i looking forward to playing esp.ra.de in the next batch of new shooters ill play. i hear its the easiest of all caves games to get a 1cc.
I don't know where you heard that, I personally consider it one of Cave's harder games. Maybe you're thinking of Galuda?TrevHead (TVR) wrote:yea i looking forward to playing esp.ra.de in the next batch of new shooters ill play. i hear its the easiest of all caves games to get a 1cc.Marurun wrote:Wow, just now getting to play older Cave games. Is DonPachi considered fast? Didn't seem particulary fast to me (haven't played past Stage 2's last boss, though; I was doing fine, but just couldn't be bothered replaying these 2 stages again as they were long and not terribly exciting). I know Cave games have got fast shots either (even DDP's first level sports some of these), but generally I associate Cave with majestic myriads of confetti descending slowly, brushing gently my ship's tiny hitbox as I am supposed to do... things for the score. You know, things.kengou wrote:Dangun Feveron and Donpachi are also ridiculously tough for me, but some people are better at fast old-school shmups than more recent bullet-hell.
That explains it. Stages 1 and 2 are some of the easiest stages in any Cave game - hell, maybe any shmup at all. 3 is fairly easy too but not unreasonably so. From stage 4 onward, the game is pure HELL. It's an unbelievable difficulty spike.Obiwanshinobi wrote: Is DonPachi considered fast? Stage 4 is where the fun startsObiwanshinobi wrote:Is DonPachi considered fast? Didn't seem particulary fast to me (haven't played past Stage 2's last boss, though; I was doing fine, but just couldn't be bothered replaying these 2 stages again as they were long and not terribly exciting).
Maybe it deserves a separate topic, but I think Gate of Thunder gets the "easy two first levels" award (but in Gate of Thunder continuing, at least for training purposes, makes sense - allows you to avoid raplaying the lot over and over again - whereas in DP continuing would be just credit feeding).kengou wrote:Stages 1 and 2 are some of the easiest stages in any Cave game - hell, maybe any shmup at all.

Athough after a couple of games yesterday that fucker was stright on its side. lol
