And please, feel free to put a few words reviewing each of this shmups.
Thanks in advance.

flashing the dvd drive won't let you play imports, you have change other things.
There is a way to mod an old version of the kernel to change the region of your 360. But you need a modchip of sorts and that is quite expensive (> US$ 50) plus all the mess with the installing and downgrading of the OS.z0mbie90 wrote:I have a European 360, PAL. Easier and cheaper way is to import a console. If not Japanese, Asian and Korean consoles are cheaper and all of them are NTSC-J.
So, basically, you're saying that if I buy an "Asian" or Korean XBOX360, Japanese region games will work without problems?Chiaroscuro wrote:Easier and cheaper way is to import a console. If not Japanese, Asian and Korean consoles are cheaper and all of them are NTSC-J.

There is: Aegis Wing. Available on US marketplace, but not on the EU one. I'd guess that it's unavailable to JPN accounts, too.neojma wrote:There are no XBLA shooters that aren't also available on the US/EU XBLA.
Asian, definitely. An Asian 360 will also allow you to play PAL games, too. Which is probably why they were impossible to source on import when I was looking for mine, although as that's over a year back now it may well not be the case any longer.emphatic wrote:So, basically, you're saying that if I buy an "Asian" or Korean XBOX360, Japanese region games will work without problems?
What is superior about the 360 port of Shikigami III? I have the US Wii release and now I'm curious about whether it would really be worth importing the 360 oneneojma wrote:* Shikigami no Shiro III (the superior 360 port is Japan only, but the Wii version did get a North American release courtesy of Aksys)
Fantastic job, Elixir. That was very useful. So I basically can use my PAL power supply on a JP system without risking a burnout? I didn't clearly understand.Elixir wrote:So I guess everyone completely disregarded this huge ass thread that I made?
The 360 port runs at a higher resolution, so it looks considerably more crisp on an HD monitor (and presumably more accurate to the capabilities of the Type X board, which I've never actually played). Haven't compared both on a low-res monitor.DBHashman93 wrote:What is superior about the 360 port of Shikigami III?
