How much does it rock compared to the way more affordable Battlemania? I tried them via emulation and it didn't seem an huge improvement.

There's a reason why the second one is more expensive.

Sorry for, maybe, dumb question - why you don't wanna play some more via emulator?

ok, there is a bad thing about this game - 2 min mode is shit. It's just stage 2...

Never said I don't wanna - it's just that I'm on a laptop and without an usb pad - therefore I can just try them for some minutes. So yeah, I launched both roms again, and yes, Battlemania2 sounds and looks cooler... Although not really to-die-for cooler. These are just first stage impressions, mind you.

Battle Mania Daiginjou's pretty neat. It's like Trouble Shooter before it, but with more crazy references... even the Indians were astonished.

Been collecting MD stuff for the last few months... got a loose cart of Trouble Shooter for real cheap, both BMs are out of my range though. Gonna try some BM2 in emu now... why's the first BM have so much sexier box art than the second?
That is Galactic Dancing

Because they knew that way I would buy two copies

Anyway, this game seems decent but not one of the best ever. Not sure about score attack (I think that's in 2)...could be worthwhile but it seemed just like part of the first stage.

Trouble Shooter 2 is love.

Hard, though. Still haven't gotten around to clearing Stage 2. Could use some better sounds, too, like from Thunder Force 4.

Just gave Trouble Shooter some attention recently. Not a bad game. The mechanics get a bit funky at times, but it was much better than I had remembered and has a certain not-too-serious feel to it that is highly enjoyable (because the gameplay is 50% relentless). BM2 is a much better game by a long shot, but it's also fairly low on my cart buying list.

Aye, BM2's a wondeful game, and the soundtrack's easily some of the best stuff you'll ever hear the Mega Drive produce. :D
