Did they withhold the release to work the hype-machine?

It's nice to see a smhup get some positive coverage in the mainstream press. You have to wonder if it's all positive that Ikaruga have become the de facto shmup though.
It is powerup of laser.

Those achievements are pathetically easy! The dot eater achievement better be for stage 4.

They need an achievement for 20 or 30 million points. I mainly just want to watch people whine over it on gamefaqs, but still.

Rumor has it that getting 200/200 achievements reveals text that says "Project RS1 XBLA 2008"

Of course, this could just be a vicious lie. Would be nice, though. Treasure did tell 1UP that they were interested in porting RS to Live.

misinformation. personally, i think the main impotus for the original arcade team to make a HD port of ikaruga for the 360 was to improve their programming abilities on the machine (for the release of their un-named new shooter). updating silvergun would be far more work in terms of content, and saturn ports are generally a bitch.

is this still not out yet?

Expecting it next week. I think it's GameSpot that usually highlights Live titles a week in advance on some web stream. Did it with Trigger Heart Excelica recently, and I believe the new stream features Ikaruga.

Does anyone find it strange that there is not a single score based achievement on the list?
Pathetic if you ask me.

The rank (in this case A or better) requirement achievements are score-based.

also, "record your best moves" and laggy online co-op being the 'top' feature

The assets hold up really, really well in HD. I'm pretty torn on buying it.

I just downloaded this. Treasure did a really good job on the graphics. Subtle, but obviously improved, especially on some of the bosses.

I wonder why they cut out the intro screen?

This happened to me too. Any other day I would've been able to understand, but Ikaruga day? Come on...
