I would disagree, although it's only a very small part of the population that manages to stay off the radar. That doesn't mean we can't be mad that we're moving further and further away from the possibility of getting any of it back though. That's called being homeless, and they camp out in cities, not forests. You'd get fined for trespassing in forests, anyway.

I think there's been a lot of attention paid to practical privacy issues of late; I don't think it's a lost cause.

Maybe having drones around won't be so bad. They can't seem to find Dorner anyway.
