reduce minimizes your ship
takes 2 hits

in snes g3 + g5 i think

arcade g3 reduce doesn't give any barriers you just get hitbox reduction

Well, we ARE on a forum that's centered around video games. In which you usually play as a spaceship. That shoots aliens, or maybe just flying robots.

Ok, then what does that last shield choice do in Gaiden? It seems to pulse then just disappear after like 4 seconds.

It's 100% protection from all things (even scenery) for those few seconds. If you place the Shield as the first thing in your power-up bar you can basically be invincible for most of the game.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

you can get the 2 shields and position them where you want 'em

HOLY SHIT AWESOME

now I feel like playing that thing
This is in PS2 GIII as well, if you unlock all the extra weapons by 1CCing the game twice.

It only lets you pick up 1 shield at a time but you can stack up as many shields as you can get. You can just keep on grabbing more shields. It means you are never truly at full power and you always have a reason to keep grabbing those powerup icons. Their position around your ship is determined by how you catch them when they fly on sreen.

Big shame they didnt carry this across for Gaiden, IV and V.

Also try rotating shield with rotating options. That looks wierd. The shields have a slight advantage in this configuration in that they can collide with scenery for no penalty.
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]
