I figured Radirgy would've been finished with the closure of Milestone. How exactly is this being released?

also, looks like I need to get a 3DS ^_^

This is looking a lot like the Survival Mode from Radirgy Noah Massive... with an added shop feature.

I guess it's cool that they've managed to obtain the Radirgy IP... here's hoping they do something far more significant with it though.

Sakura Flamingo presumably inherited the rights to Milestone's IP when they split off from the company.

As far as I can tell it is basically the Survival Mode from Radirgy Noah Massive. I don't think that it's a shop though, I think it's just unlockable wallpaper. As far as that last screenshot, the Japanese page implies that if you have this game on a system with Karous: Beast of RE:Eden that has enabled the streetpass feature, that something nice will happen. It looks like you can unlock a Radirgy level inside of Karous. I've been Karous on 3DS and I'm looking forward to this as well. Hopefully it will fund some bigger shooting game projects in the future...

I dont see klon launching more shooting games. It looks like karous 3DS has bombed hard, so don't see a really bright future.

And here we are, hoping for a localized version of the game, so we can have a go at it. Damn region locking!... i'd get this one in a heart beat if the game (and console) were region free!.

There is a working method now of breaking the region lock on a 3DS, but it's quite difficult and runs the risk of bricking your system.

Eventually someone will come out with a simple hack that does it. If only the 2DS was released in Japan.

Can't live with out my online. Just finished a few sets of blaz blue tonight. I will google the method though.

this is out.
it's uhm... almost nothing.

never played noah massive, dunno if it's the same as that game's survival mode.
you defend some storehouse by preventing bullets and enemies from hitting the bottom of the screen (which doesn't make much sense at all, conceptually, but ok). your sword doesn't clear bullets, so if there's any headed down the screen you have to intercept them with your shield, your bomb(-like halo thing), or... yourself. cause you're invincible anyway. unlike the storehouse. does stop you in your track for a moment though. effectively though, you use your bomb. once the action heats up a bit and you keep dealing damage the bomb gauge recharges so fast that you can just spam it continuously. doing so seems to fill your antenna gauge, which makes your bomb-halo bigger and bigger. eventually you're just focusing on keeping your bomb huge so you can keep vacuuming the screen clean of bullets and enemies.

one screen. one mode.
so far i'm kinda amused with the sheer chaos of it, but i don't imagine it will hold my interest for long.
i say that as someone who has grown to appreciate karasu the beast of re:eden a fair bit.

for a single screen game it has a ridiculous amount of music though.
the "sound" screen lets you do nothing but adjust the music and sfx volumes, but it does have its own tune.
the "staff" screen is just a list of names, but it does have its own tune.
the game itself may not have more than a single screen, but it does change tune every few minutes.
can't tell if they're lifted from other radirgy games (i haven't played any since the gamecube one...), but i guess k.h.d.n. are the real stars of this game. ^^;

(warning: this might be slightly spoilery)

having a streetpass file of re:eden unlocks re:eden themed wallpapers on the wallpaper screen (which, yes, has its own tune). selecting a re:eden wallpaper lets you play with the re:eden craft instead of the radirgy craft, and also replaces the HUD with the re:eden HUD. i haven't noticed the presence of radirgy on my 3DS having any effect on re:eden.

That sounds pretty much like Noah's survival mode (with a minute change or two).

Awesome. But on another note, 3DS games are regionlocked? I have no knowledge about 3DS so sorry for stupid questions. And if so it would be a shame, dont think this will get EU release :/

I hope there will be an OST release for this game and for Karous 3DS.

It is indeed a remixed version of Radirgy Noa Massive's survival mode. Does this game have as much slowdown as Karous 3DS by the way?

The content offered sounds like a $5 iOS game...

Is this an actual retail cart release or just a cheap downloadable title? My interest in Milestone-related stuff has increased recently, but there is no way I would pay full price for this.

Just bought it, if nothing else to support a small company trying to make some shmups, but I agree with glitch it seems lacking. Maybe it will grow on me.

There are no stages.

You just sit over the hanger the entire time as increasingly intense enemy waves come at you, it doesn't even scroll. Kinda like an ultra modern space invaders. It's growing on me... slowly. But it's too bad they didn't just make a legitimate Radirgy game.

This sound comes from Radirgy's bubble shot if I am not mistaken, a terribly unfitting choice to say the truth. It is a shame because the Wide shot sound effect from Radirgy was way less intrusive and does not hide the music. I tried to listen to it but the sounds effects were too loud. I noticed that the music changes whenever the base reaches a new threshold of destruction, though.
This video still looks better than that other Karous 3DS video in my opinion. The slowdown does not look as annoying and having to protect the base makes for some tense moments. Aside from the sound effects and the slowdown, it seems very fun.

player in that video doesn't drive up the antenna gauge much, so things remain pretty tame.
if the game heats up a bit there's a lot more slowdown than you see there (and more fun).
karasu is the better game though, by a big margin.

yes, though you don't strictly need to use them.
you have 4 attack types (3 shot patterns with regular sword plus one weak shot pattern with strong sword). selection is done on the touch screen, or by cycling through them with the Y button. both are inconvenient. (if you wanna switch to strong sword quickly to clean up a stray bullet, you either need to mentally compute the right number of Y presses or use the touch screen button, hence my comment...)
