As I stated earlier in the thread, Tim said that this second batch is identical to the first.Voultar wrote: Will the 2nd (currently shipped) batch of PCB's contain any of the revisions/additions that you were in the process of hypothesizing/adopting?

I sent him an email and asked him if the second batch incorporated any changes.Voultar wrote:Did Tim tell you this in open forum, or privately?

Thanks Tim!! Woohoo!!!

Great! Hopefully I'll have my AV Famicom Multi-Out panel replicant perfected by then. I'm still just a bit off on the color pigmentation.ApolloBoy wrote:I sent him an email and asked him if the second batch incorporated any changes.Voultar wrote:Did Tim tell you this in open forum, or privately?
I didn't receive any tracking information. Just a link that can help you calculate delivery time, based upon geography.fandangos wrote:Mine is shipped but I didn't get the tracking code.
Anyone here did?

Whaaat, you've already RECEIVED it?? In which country do you live?Slymick wrote:package from Tim arrived today (mid 30's order #)...

Even then I strongly suspect that the reason for those particular incidents were faul play as they all came from the same source.
In other words everyone dont get your panties in a bunch, packages dont just up and vanish. I once sent a game from Canada to Australia, it took over 3 months to get there but get there it did eventually. Be patient.

Agreed that untracked shipments and letters have an extremely high success ratio, otherwise no one would ship anything like that, ever.
However, I have seen too much in my professional life working with the post and delivery firms to blindly trust untracked shipments.
I would rather take control of the situation making sure I did everything possible to ensure the safety of a shipment, instead of leaving it at "good odds". Especially if it's something important or has a high value.
Of course, I've seen fully tracked shipments disappear into this air as well, so that isn't 100% fool proof either, but at least that way you can file a complaint and get a refund and maybe even the insurance to pay out.
**edit**
Btw this is absolutely no rant towards Tim, just my general opinion on the matter of untracked shipments.
I come from a land down under (sorry).Jeppen wrote:fandangos wrote:Mine is shipped but I didn't get the tracking code.

In the webshop he states that the Australian post doesn't really give out any useful tracking ID's, I don't really understand that and dont' really feel comfortable a $200 envelope travelling around half the globe without any tracking possibility.
Only 2 weeks ago I had a letter from UK to Scandinavia going with Royal mail disappear completely, or at least it's 2 weeks late according to their schedule.

*jealous*
So far they've been from dead SNESes or GameCubes. You might want to check out this thread on Assembler where someone's making a new backplate for the top loader with an integrated multiout: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/sh ... out-socketlettuce wrote:So where are people sourcing A/V multi out sockets from, will anyone ever fabricate them?
I got 2 multiAV ports that I'm willing to sell to anyone interested. One came from SNes the other from GameCube. Pm me if interested.lettuce wrote:So where are people sourcing A/V multi out sockets from, will anyone ever fabricate them?

Surely with 3d printing places like shapeways some can fashion a multi port. Might give it a go.
I think it's mostly to make it look more official. Its also nice to be able to use the same cable for your NES, SNES, and N64. I have one in mine and like it that way.Jeppen wrote:I don't understand the hype with the SNES multi-out when there are alternatives like the mini-din 9 or whatever.
What makes it superior in your view? Is it the design of the whole shabang or a feature?
Now that is a truly valid reason!mickcris wrote:Its also nice to be able to use the same cable for your NES, SNES, and N64. I have one in mine and like it that way.
I'm in the final stages of perfectly replicating the AV Famicom Multi-Out panel for use in the Top-Loader.lettuce wrote:So where are people sourcing A/V multi out sockets from, will anyone ever fabricate them?
Are you only doing Multi-out panels? Or is there going to be other options? I personally want to stick to a mini-din, but I'd love to have a cleaner solution than additional drilling holes in the case.Voultar wrote:I'm in the final stages of perfectly replicating the AV Famicom Multi-Out panel for use in the Top-Loader.lettuce wrote:So where are people sourcing A/V multi out sockets from, will anyone ever fabricate them?
Jason (Game-Tech.US), and a couple of others are aware of this project of mine. I'll bring it to the open forum once the quality comes to a production level.

I'd be very interested in grabbing one from you, I was in the process of filing out the existing backpanel on mine for a multiout but it's been proving to be a royal PITA.Voultar wrote:I'm in the final stages of perfectly replicating the AV Famicom Multi-Out panel for use in the Top-Loader.lettuce wrote:So where are people sourcing A/V multi out sockets from, will anyone ever fabricate them?

I can think of another reason. From Composite to s-video to RGB you can use the same connector for all of them all you need to do is swap out cables.mickcris wrote:Its also nice to be able to use the same cable for your NES, SNES, and N64. I have one in mine and like it that way.
