What's the deal with Raiden 3?

Post by BUHA »

There was a lot of hype about this one, but I never hear anything about it anymore. How is it? I was thinking about getting it for PS2, how's the port? Anything special about the PS2 version? What's the verdict?

thanks

Nice port. Game: solid, completely uninspired. 6.5/10. Gamepro rating: :| :| :| :?

Yup, really wanted to like this one, but it barely has a pulse. There is no reason to play this when DX is floating around...

CMoon and Rob are right on about this one. I don't regret the 10 hours I spent on it, but they would have been better spent on Raiden DX.

I liked it.

Not mind-blowing or anything, but fun nonetheless.

I like it a lot - I was bored with the old Raidens, having played them for so many years.

The only real selling point for this game would be Double Mode. It's so nuts. :D

Aside from that, the game is good. Nice old-schoolish soundtrack, pretty good visuals and level design, nice little multiplier system at work. Not mind-blowing, but good. Definitely challenging in typical Raiden fashion, though.

I think it's great - if you like the original Raiden games or older Toaplan stuff. Fast pointed bullets are gold.

The port is excellent.
