"Raiden" Name Translation
"Raiden" Name Translation
In Raiden IV, it was possible to download as DLC the ship from Raiden II, now named the "Fighting Thunder". Since the ship was not simply called the Raiden Mk II as it had been in previous Raiden franchise installments, was this an attempt to capture the figurative meaning of its Japanese name, "雷電", in English?

Kind of silly to. Just think of it as thunder and lightening I guess. The first one is actually thundder/lightening, the 2nd one is electricity.

I was wondering about it, since "Thunder & Lightning" doesn't fit western military plane naming conventions like "Fighting Thunder" does; Whether they were making an attempt to really translate the name across cultures or not.

Considering what they were given, I think it's a valiant effort!
