No AV output! That's unbelievable-- there goes my plan to solve my NES woes.

Hmmm... maybe this is the way to go? I suppose you could find such a thing on EBay?

OK, I looked on EBay, and there are all these original NESs that say NEW 72 pin. Is this the way to go?

Go with a toploader, add composite if it suits you. The mod is like four resistors, a transistor, and four solder points on the NES itself. It takes about an hour to do. You can get everything you need at Radio Shack.

Well, I guess if you can do, then it sounds worth doing. Soldering brings back bad memories of Middle-School shop class for me; which is why the only console I've ever modded in my life was an SNES.

I got my Gen Nex today. All my games work flawlessly. Maybe some of the systems are just lemons. Sorry yours is all fucked up. :(

Interesting; well, I suppose even new consoles based on 20-year old hardware can still have lemons.

What games have you tried, Ramus? If the list is too long, maybe you could just mention some of the shooters you've tried.

The list is long (about 60 or so games), but I don't have any shmups. Sad I know, but I'm working on it. I had to clean all the games with PCB cleaner from Radio Shack, but after that they worked flawlessly. When I get some shmups I'll let you guys know.

Not to dredge up an old thread, but I have to ask. Has anyone tried one of these:
