No AV output! That's unbelievable-- there goes my plan to solve my NES woes.

Hmmm... maybe this is the way to go? I suppose you could find such a thing on EBay?
Go with a toploader, add composite if it suits you. The mod is like four resistors, a transistor, and four solder points on the NES itself. It takes about an hour to do. You can get everything you need at Radio Shack.

Well, I guess if you can do, then it sounds worth doing. Soldering brings back bad memories of Middle-School shop class for me; which is why the only console I've ever modded in my life was an SNES.

The list is long (about 60 or so games), but I don't have any shmups. Sad I know, but I'm working on it. I had to clean all the games with PCB cleaner from Radio Shack, but after that they worked flawlessly. When I get some shmups I'll let you guys know.
got mine on friday. so far only 2 games i tries failed: dragon warrior and castlevania 3....sounds like these games are incompatible from the looks of it... all my other games and famicom carts worked great tho. nice looking system, the nes carts can be a pain to remove tho.
