Is there anything left in the Dallas area other than Nickelrama's Truxton and the unconfirmed to have anything Tornado Terry's?

Nothing that I'm aware of. I'm back there almost never.

Thanks for sharing, these are great! I spent most of my time at a sleezy Aladdin's Castle.
Never got to go to CEC as a kid. Wanted too!

That was driving me a little crazy so I looked. I don't remember this game. Seems like a fine enough chase-maze game.

I thought "Funny how close the font is to TMNT". But wait.. this says 1981.. and TMNT was in 1984.. so.. seems a little weird.
And I guess this logo was for 1987, the original wasn't that same blobby sort of shape.

Just neat coincidences I thought. Not super similar, but sort of.

Stern Seeburg: the only name one needs to remember in arcade games. Wonder if the Telex number is still in use.

Not so much retro, but as far as arcades that are alive in TX, check out Arcade UFO. It's run by an avid fighting game fan that goes by "fubarduck". One of these days I'll get over there and check it out myself.

The drag had 2 arcades on it when I went to Austin. They were open until some crazy hour. 4AM I think. Good times.

My Aladdin's Castle rocked. Once I figured out I could buy the early bird special ($4-$5 of tokens for 2 bucks) and sell them later, I turned my measly allowance into hours of Truxton and a cheese dog at Corn Dog 7.

But back then beating that first big tank was like winning the game.

True...
Mine had fun games, but the place was pretty funky and getting my parents to leave me there was always a struggle. But I still remember playing Golden Axe, Ghouls and Ghosts, Smash TV, Twin Cobra and plenty more... loved the bubble eyes on top of Alien Syndrome!

I love everything about Alien Syndrome. That and Shinobi are what got me all hard for Sega back then.
