Awesome, just awesome. Thank you. As I thought I read somewhere it wasn't possible anymore?... Anywho, this should tide me over for a bit, but I'm still planning on getting a Japanese 360. Just way too many shooters to get my hands on that are Japanese only for me to pass up. I can't resist it. No it possible. ... Just got to fit it into the budget one of these days (ie. lots of games to import & the prices seems very high :( ).

Well, it was the only game that really tempted me to get a J360. But honestly, I wouldn't have pulled the trigger over just one game (or even a few).

However! If all (or most) of the region-free shmups *had* come out region-locked, then you bet your sweet arse i would have shelled out for one of those blasted things years ago. Thankfully, I didn't have to!

The portable releases are a poor 2nd best to the console ports. Having physical buttons makes an enormous difference compared to the finicky onscreen buttons, especially with a game like Galuda 2.
Totally agreed. But I'm having so much fun with Deathsmiles and DDP Resurrection that given my tight schedule, the mobile versions are just fine. Still would love to play Mushi Futari and SDOJ on a console in the near future.

Can someone give a quick list of shmups that are exclusive or better on the J360?

also are most of the games purchasable as downloads or do you need to find physical copies for most?
