MARP also disqualifies runs that enable C button autofire (which is laughable as the only noteworthy Progear score is one that got disqualified for that reason). If you also look at their leaderboard, it's based on how many first place scores for games you hold... but all this means is that the current first place holder popped one credit in a bunch of shitty slot machine games and blackjack games nobody cares about, submitted an utterly non-noteworthy score, and gets credited for being the only one with a score submitted for those games. What this means is that the really good players who focus one one or two games are at the bottom of the overall leaderboard because they've only played a couple different games (even if their scores in those games are far more impressive).

Seriously, go to their leaderboard, look at Phil Lamat's listed 878 '1st place' scores: they're all for games nobody's ever played because they're totally not noteworthy or even considered good, or it's a first place ranking on a game that wouldn't even make a leaderboard on here. For instance, his Battle Bakraid boss only score is barely at 1 million, but he's still credited with it on the overall leaderboard as a 1st place score, simply because nobody else has bothered to post there. Basically, find a bunch of shit games, put one credit in, post score, profit?!

If you think MARP's issues are just the autofire thing, you're mistaken.

Requiring defaults might be kind of silly, but it's not completely backwards. The ranking thing doesn't matter anyways, it's kinda pointless to care about something like that really. Besides, how else would you do it? It sounds like you just have a bone to pick with MARP.

Drat! They burnt the comedy gold Giga Wing 2 evidence! Now they use full defaults.

But now there are no scores.

I'm cheered up to learn that I'm the Metal Black WR holder though. 8)

What's that? RVS-R.Y with 742,850? Never heard of him LOLOLOL!

The leaderboard is a joke. The only reason it hasn't been removed is because it doesn't actively hurt anything, and it's useful as a quick search for active players on the site. The two big offenders are gambling games and clone romsets (which each have their own separate leaderboard due to potential differences in the sets). There are people who go down the clones that nobody plays and puts up scores for all of them to get leaderboard points, but nobody takes them or the board seriously. It doesn't hurt the main purpose of the site at all, which is an archive of mame replays.

1,312,000 is the real world record for Splatterhouse played on japan PCB in default settings.

This game have a secret in the last boss, you must do a Double K.O. (stage 7) and win 100.000 points for each time. You can repeat this pattern many times because you'll win an extra life for a certain number of times, but not forever, there is a limit. Tg's referees believe that this is infinite and so this technique is banned, but they are wrong.

So Arcadia's score and Tg's scores are not comparable for this reason.

Without double K.O. pattern on the last Boss, in Italy a player called Andrea Salzi made 20 years ago 643.600 pts in game center.

Somebody brought up this issue, and I was wondering how you even do a double KO on the final boss? Is it only possible on the Japanese version, or how do you make it work?
