It was a pleasant surprise. I haven't found a single console with a CXA1145 that wires pin 11 to anything. CSYNC output always is an afterthought, as I believe the AES systems that had CSYNC output on DIN8 pin 7 were just tied to CXA pin 10, not 11. The Genesis 1 is the same way.

However I can't seem to get a pic from it? I can hear the game playing but just a blue screen, this is on both my us snes (using pal gc rgb lead) and my megadrive. Am I doing something wrong?
I have kind of given up ever trying to get the XRGB Mini to give me a good picture out of my Gamecube, PS2, or Wii.
Using component for all 3 of the consoles, for some reason it looks better simply hooked right up to my plasma TV. I don't know why this is. I have tried every setting under the sun in the XRGB Mini and the image either ends up looking pixelated to all hell, or I get some weird "screen door effect" when it looks good.
Before I spend the better part of a weekend rewiring my entire gaming area, is there any type of firmware on the horizon that could potentially fix this?
I have now managed to get a pic on my framemeister however I need to set the sync level to about 20-22 to get a picture via my snes and megadrive, but this is to high a sync level fir my supergun and gamecube which seem happy to operate at a sync level of 0-10.
Is there anything I can do to get everything working on the same sync level? I noticed these sync booster adapters, any good??
I must confess, the only real annoyance I have with the Mini is the amount of time it takes switching between 240p and 480i. It isn't a problem in many games but those that do are disappointing (e.g. Chrono Cross switching between game and menu). I take it the likelihood of Micomsoft fixing this now is looking incredibly slim?
Isn't there a way to make the Retro Mode create oval shaped edges for all games? I notice with certain games I get the oval CRT style (DOA3 and others allow it) but for other games (KOF XI) it's straight square and the only thing RM adds are the shadows at each side. Pretty sure this problem's been addressed. It's got something to do with the settings yes?
they would have to allow custom images with alpha blending to accomodate matching "borders" for all systems. If you invert the colors, you'll see that the rounded corners are there all the time. With some (most?) sources they're just outside the active picture area.

You're right with inverted colors every source appears rounded. Only problem there is you witness a sort of negative zone effect. Perhaps it really is hopeless to get round edges for all.
I notice something about the Famicom and MVS when using these converters. I get these really faint leaning wavy lines. I trust this is normal video in Arcade boards? My Famicom uses a PlayChoice 10 chip from Nintendo's Arcade PCB.
I had all my stuff setup kinda nicely but I had to go safe mode.
For stuff with scanlines (all the RGB systems basically) you do 720p and scanlines. It looks great I don't need to fiddle with anything, should I though?
Would love 1080p scanlines to look great too but fine, 720p for now.

not really, no. For NES or AV Famicom you can shift the picture a little to the left to get rid of the usual grey bar. On the Genesis/MD you can move down the picture a little to get the flickering line of pixels out of sight. And you can adjust the H_SCALER setting for your prefered sharpness setting. 5 is the sharpest, but I use 10 for some sources.

Say what are some recommended color settings for the MVS, I played with it a little bit and I got a strong display but I want to know what you guys think. Btw can anybody verify leaning waves in the video? I notice this on a lot of Arcade boards tried through my and others TV.
