For lovers of the Thunder Force saga i would like to report my creation:
Legendary Wings

Download @ http://lw.uaiz.it
The game is 100% complete and I'm currently working on the sequel.
I hope you enjoy it.

These are my impressions after the first stage. Maybe things get mor fastpaced and aggressive in later stages but honestly I don't feel like playing this much further. Hopefully you'll keep some of these things in mind with the sequel.
Thanks for advice, I'll keep this ... is obviously just a amateur game.Ebbo wrote:Was expecting winged men in skintight trousers - a slight disappointment.
The overall gameplay feels quite slow. Enemies take a lot of hits before dying, the first boss being the biggest culprit. Overly simple pattern and way too much health renders the fight boring quickly. Quite a contrast considering how most of the bosses from TF series often go down in matter of seconds. And yet I still managed to die thanks to wonky player hitbox and UI that blocked the view on my ship (this wouldn't be that much of problem if boss' weakspot wasn't the head that just so happens to be at the same height as the weapon icons).
Not much to comment about the visuals. Obviously there are lots of borrowed graphics from different games that don't always match that well. The balance between sound effects and music seems way off, since I can hardly hear music behind all those loud sound effects - the thunder during first boss battle was especially jarring.

Agreeing with BPzeBanshee . And....the "hunter".....does not hunt for the enemies ^^; I may be a spoiled person, but i haven't found the enjoyment to play this game.BPzeBanshee wrote:I really hope you learn from this and avoid some of the stuff you've done/haven't done in this for your sequel, for instance:
- lack of controller support
- collision issues
- usage of GM default particles (they suck, they're bad for performance)
- 30 FPS
- too much health on the enemies / no power in any of your weapons
- bad keyboard control scheme
