Taito Memories PSP announced,20 games with 4 arranged titles

Post by Dylan1CC »

Looks like this will be my first PSP import. Here's hoping Darius Gaiden and a few other shooters are included too. Maybe we will get TATE this time although Layer Section on a flipped PSP would probably kill a few hand strings. :p And please, please, please give us New Zealand Story arranged!

Taito Memories Set for PSP

The classics on the go!

by Anoop Gantayat

October 27, 2005 - The PSP is the perfect environment for classic arcade releases, as Namco found out with its early portable version of Namco Museum. Taito is at last following suit with some PSP retro gaming of its own. The publisher announced this past week plans for Taito Memories Pocket for the PSP.

Following the pattern set by its PS2 counterparts, Taito Memories will include a number of classic arcade titles from the 1980s. In all, we can expect twenty games, including such classics as Crazy Balloon, Elevator Action, Kage no Densetsu and New Zealand Story. Of these games, four of these will also be playable in newly arranged form, with new items and other bonus features.Taito Memories Pocket will make use of the PSP's wireless LAN play features for multiplayer play. A Japanese release is set for January 5, 2006. Sadly, Taito will be pricing this like a full title, at 5040 yen.

Alpine Ski, Elevator Action, Rainbow Island Extra, Crazy Ballon, Chack n' Pop, Lunar Rescue, Balloon Bomber, Legend of Kage, The Fairyland Story, Rastan Saga, The New Zealand Story, Raimais, Cameltry, Qix, Kiki Kaikai, Kuri Kinton, Crazy Ballon 2005, Balloon Bomber 2005, Legend of Kage 2005, Cameltry 2005
Disappointing. They could've at least given us true widescreen Ninja Warriors and Sagaia.

Yeah, and where the heck is Bubble Bobble??? And no Darius Gaiden either. I assume it's because it's based on Vol 2 but still, that is lame.

(btw, where'd you find that lineup?)

edit: NM, found a link. Not that I don't trust ya. ;) And hopefully the UK or U.S. will get a more comprehensive version.

Not just no Darius Gaiden, but actually no Taito F3 stuff in there. :( It looks like a watered-down Volume 2 with some V1 games added. I think I may be passing on this one.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

I think I will too. This is sounding like a really half hearted effort. :?
