One of the the few games that got support for both analog sticks on the ps1.

I'm a little late with my reply but THX for the recommendations.Jonathan Ingram wrote:Warriors Orochi 3TrevHead (TVR) wrote:#1 Dynasty Warriors type games for the 360/PC, (although if there is a standout for other systems I'd still like to know)
Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War
Ninety-Nine Nights
Sengoku Basara 3/Samurai Heroes(this one`s for PS3 and Wii)
Well, there`s Shepherd`s Crossing 1-2 and Innocent Life, but Rune Factory 3 is honestly much better than either.#1 Harvest Moon type games on the DS/PSP. I hear Rune Factory has dungeons which I'd probably prefer, but I still wouldn't mind trying out one of the more classic titles.
More in the line of survival/horror, but RE2 and Parasite Eve are both great. Also Megaman Legends 1&2.null1024 wrote:Good PS1 third person shooters?
Kinda obvious, but try out the demos. I knew immediately that ThE wasn't my thing and that TWN was right up my alley.Bareknuckleroo wrote:Triggerheart Exelica vs Trouble Witches Neo: which should I get?
I adore the fuck out of Silent Bomber. The characters are terrible, but it is such an enjoyable game.Ed Oscuro wrote:It's kind of obvious, but not really a third person shooter, but Silent Bomber is okay. I recall hating the everloving hell out of the characters and storyline though, and not all the missions were really hot (especially a few near the end). Still, when it's good, it's pretty good!
Gotcha. Probably will try out Parasite Eve first. I am looking for really shooty stuff though.Moniker wrote: More in the line of survival/horror, but RE2 and Parasite Eve are both great. Also Megaman Legends 1&2.
I have some affection for Blasto, which is kind of like a video game of the life Zapp Brannigan imagines he leads.null1024 wrote:Good PS1 third person shooters?

Rhapsody is probably the shortest and easiest.broken harbour wrote:What's a good, not terribly difficult, medium length RPG for PS1? Check out Brave Fencer Musashi or Threads of Fate if you want the most charming games Square ever produced. CIT mentioned Rhapsody, which is a great game but a very niche one. If you won't play FFVII because of a poor localization (I don't think I've ever heard that before), then Rhapsody is probably pushing it.broken harbour wrote:What's a good, not terribly difficult, medium length RPG for PS1? Its not that I wouldn't play it, just been hearing lately that it doesn't hold up.Nana wrote:Check out Brave Fencer Musashi or Threads of Fate if you want the most charming games Square ever produced. But isn't that a fine piece of advice.do not attack when the tail is up

What's cool about the 360 port of Trouble Witches Neo is that it sports some extra gaming content that the Taito Type X arcade version of TW doesn't have (at least the Type X version supports 4:3 arcade monitors as it should be). How cool is that?Moniker wrote:Anyone tried Retro/Grade? Rhythm-based "anti-shmup" - on sale on steam. Seems to either be good stuff or eternal backlog material.

Another cool PSX title that sports a 3rd-person viewpoint is none other than Trap Gunner. It got a proper USA release as well.Mortificator wrote:I have some affection for Blasto, which is kind of like a video game of the life Zapp Brannigan imagines he leads.null1024 wrote:Good PS1 third person shooters?
LegasistaNana wrote:How about any Japanese real-time third person dungeon crawlers (think like Baroque, .Hack, or Demon's Souls -- not Diablo or Baldur's Gate)? I know that's a specific one, but I really love these. Any console is fine. Bonus points if it includes a huge tower. Extra if it's bloody.
If you haven't played Final Fantasy VII, you owe it to yourself. I reckon most folks who say it doesn't hold up are focused a lot on the graphics. The CGs aren't as good as the realtime 3D in modern games and the field graphics are awfully blocky. But the game has tremendous expansiveness for a JRPG. I don't think the story is all that great but the industrial/tech setting is pretty amazing. However, it's not exactly medium length at around 50 hours. There's nothing broken about it compared to other Final Fantasy games, and the localization—while leaving quite a bit to be desired—is still better than most RPG localizations of its day.broken harbour wrote:What's a good, not terribly difficult, medium length RPG for PS1?
