I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses "disc" for optical medium and "disk" for non-optical. :D

Of course! The magnetic ones are floppy disks, and hard disk drives.

It doesn't look like my order was put in for this until after the stock arrived. So it looks like I won't get the soundtrack CDs.

Look. The fact you're sick of people whining about it is actually besides the point. The main problem is that you:
a) rather dismissively implied that these people are not only whining, but also doing so from a point of view that is limited in business knowledge, and;
b) did this the very next post after mine, thereby implicitly including me in that subset of people.

In other words, regardless of how many times you've seen this sort of whining, you might as well have come in immediately after my post and said: "shut it retard, you know precisely right next to sweet fuck all about it".

Do you see now?

Anyway, even if you don't, I'm done trying to explain how these things work.

And no, it's not a compliment. I won't go into why; the fact you thought it was speaks volumes, though.
Again, its unfortunate that you triggered this line of thinking in me and I got your side of the story a long time ago, although I probably will never see the logic in living with a mindset that manifests your last 2 sentences to me. I'm turning the other cheek.

I really hope Eurotaku doesn't hold out and not send the sound tracks. That was half the reason I ordered it, order says "shipping soon". Fingers crossed :/

Didn't even see Play-asia taking preorders even though I had notifications set up. Are the only way to get these now through NCSX, Nin Nin Games, or a buddy/middle-man service in Japan via Amazon.co.jp?

Well, you're a better human than me.

And no, I don't necessarily see that as a compliment either.

Anyway, let's draw a line under this.

No problems. You're not alone in this, believe me.

And I won't. Carry on, that is.

Let's leave the thread to what it should be about around now: everyone updating everyone else on the minutae of the shipment of their new shiny.

What's this about getting soundtrack CDs? A preorder bonus that people ordering now won't receive? Sorry, didn't follow this thread, there was too much whining.

Some reviews are up on the amazon site, the second goes into some detail about guwange and the dlc disc, but i can't translate/understand the finer points of it...

ケイブシューティングコレクション 購入特典 サントラCD10枚組.
Purchase bonus? I though it was included in every box.

Rancor says Guwange is a code and the dlc is on a separate disc. No-one has confirmed it's independent yet, but signs are good. Just need a final word now.

I don't think the soundtracks actually come inside the box for some weird reason. They're in a separate wallet. Not sure if that means they're a limited extra or just part of the laziest design decision in collector box history.

Before anyone starts sweating, just remember Cave stuff is only limited until the next time they re-release everything for cheaper and in a better box. ;)

Yea, that's also the way some cave first-print booklets were included (see Daioujou or Ketsui). They were just slightly to big to fit in the packaging, so were outside the game case.

And the next collection will include Saidaioujou and have Guwange on a disc. Surely that'll be enough incentive to buy it again.

I thought all the copies had all sold out? Is this collection not quite limited then? I hope so as I would love to buy this in the future when I've got the cash.

Isn't €ave allowed to do so anyway?
They know this community is rabid for their STGs.

Xbox 360? It's only a worthwhile shmup investment because of €ave.

SDOJ won't be the last 360 release and there will be another collection on the assumption that the division of CAVE that deals with arcade games/their ports doesn't totally close.

This is a very expensive collection, but I guess it does represent reasonable value when I consider what I've wasted on individual releases, and especially if you care about having a physical copy of the superplays.

If this is going to make available for eternity the LE content or pre-order bonuses from previous releases in disc form, then I guess that's a good thing. Not that the XBL servers are going to be going down anytime in the next 5-8 years....

I believe it is amazon exclusive not limited. Most of the sites selling out were importers who were probably unsure how many copies they could get their hands on. Now it is released it is available again at play-asia for $399

Has anyone tried to install the DLC disc yet and if so, how does it work? I'm curious whether or not the DLC is tied to an XBL account.

Thanks

Ah I see thx for setting me straight, although that price hike is a bit off putting I'll look into grabbing a copy when I'm richer if there is some still available.

Maybe not XBL, but where are the replays stored, on CAVE's servers or Microsofts?

Did anyone else get an email from nin nin asking for more money toward the postage because they're heavier than expected? It seems legit as the postage cost has gone up by the same amount on their website and they knew my order number...still pretty annoying.

Yeah, I got that. Paid the extra. Not much else to do. It's still cheaper than NCSX.
