I wanted to buy some of Sven's lovely plastic boxes, but I couldn't afford them since I'm such a fucking hobo. Woe is me. :(

Region free and it would be a no brainer
Region locked and I'll probably still buy it, better have some kick ass packaging though!!

If I were to order this off of Amazon, will they ship it to the U.S. or do I need a middleman? I'm on the site now and have a Japanese speaker with me to assist, but we're not entirely sure. Can I use my US amazon account or will I need to create a new one for the Japanese site? Thanks.

Amazon.jp won't ship games overseas (but books and movies). You cannot use your american account, but you can use the same data (email etc) to create a japanese account. The interface on the site can be switched to english.

Will they ship to Europe? Say France, Germany or Britain? Thanks for the info.

A good way to find out is to add it to your cart on amazon.jp then go to checkout to see if it (or other products) ships outside Japan or not, before you press the Confirm & Pay button.

Well, regular Amazon.com doesn't send games abroad either, at least to my country. :?

No, only books and movies.

No games. I have no idea why.

The regular site has select stores for each products that either offer domestic (US) or international shipment. There are also some hidden licensing or law reasons why specific games don't ship outside the US. The best way is to just add the game to your cart and check if the site gives you a warning or not. The webpage is also picky about which countries it can send games to.

That's exactly what I do, and not once did Amazon allow me to buy a video game from them.
Which is a shame because they have top-notch service and I'd gladly buy games from them as an alternative to any other online shop.

So I take it most people are either using a middle man in Japan or going through a site like Play-Asia? Best recommendation to guaranty a copy? I do know a few who have families in Japan that might? Or I could use Rancor from here. Those that are picking this up, what are you planning to do?

Rancor is the man. My go-to middleman for sure.

That's my cue to come in and recommend my buddy's forwarding service: dv8cag.com

I use it for music, games, you name it. There's no shipping fee for amazon to his house, you just have to pay a bit for the service and actual cost of shipping to your house.

Ah, I think I see how this special box came about.

Judging by the pic, it looks like Cave must have had a truckload of surplus DVD stock unsold - enough to fill however many of these collections they'll be producing - and tried to figure out how to shift them out the door for profit. The answer:

Reprint the games in two cheap multicases, whack the DVD's in the box, sell the lot for $300 a pop.

This set isn't a homegrown idea for the ultimate Cave 360 collection, it's simple stock clearance business.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a bargain for folks who don't have much of this stuff, and I'll probably be tempted (but not tempted enough I don't think) if the DLC turns out to be on the disc and independent of the 360 account. It is taking them a long time to clarify this point though.

Those two multicases look a whole lot like the fan-made boxer career DVD collections I get from time to time. They serve their purpose so I don't usually care too much, but in an official product like this it looks off. I'm half-expecting a blown-up jpeg of Hibachi from someone's color printer for the covers.

I would only buy this for the superplay DVDs I don't have. Doesn't make much financial sense to me otherwise.

Gutted now as I really want the couple of superplays I don't have. :(

I think I will go with DDPSDOJ LE I think. And Ghost Blade LE, once a trailer appears. :D

Play Asia says DLC is all included in the set. I can't see that being by download codes. Surely its all rebuilt and applied to the games right?

That does make the collection somewhat more appealing. Though if anyone wants rid of any super play DVDs, please, step in to my office! :D

Nah, best information has all of the DLC being on a separate install disc, a la the multidisc Forza Motorsport games. Otherwise they'd have to do a new pressing for each of the game discs, get them re-signed by Microsoft, etc.

For a lot of people, this is the sticking point for buying or not buying. If Cave are smart they'll find a way to re-press the discs and get the dlc independent. I have to admit, the DVD stock clearance does make it very unlikely they'll spend the extra.
