I would love to see a proper clear on Raystorm, complete with ongoing strategy discussion and techniques to survive the 5th boss. :P

I've been playing a lot lately and aiming for a much better run that I could eventually provide, though. As for the voice talent, I'd like to hear someone who isn't me talk about the game (Randorama?).
Fantastic news!

And I can assure you, that your voice would be perfect for the Mars Matrix episode. Actually I wouldn't accept anyone else, you're the man. The one and only xoxak.

This episode could easily beat the Futari week. Make it happen.

I've come to find these are unpopular things.

Just a suggestion, make a poll or just count the games and how many wants to see them and if there anyone that knows the game and can do commentary.
Then you have a list of games on demand and you have games for a couple of episodes ready. Don't know if it's a great suggestion but there you got it! :D

pssshh, Touhou is a whole different thing now. Branding!
Aren't there only like, three of those games people take seriously?

Welp, in Touhou there are 3 games: Perfect Cherry Blossom, UFO and Imperishable Night.

 !!! I've never seen that stage 5 popcorn milking before, the one where Kamui milked that single green plane that was circling around her for a couple of minutes.

The point of STG Weekly, to my understanding, is to inform people about shmups. Sometimes that includes the history of the genre, sometimes that includes strategies for specific games, and sometimes that includes the mindset of superplayers. I see no reason why it shouldn't also inform people about lesser known games.

Yeah that surprised me a bit too, it's not in most Garegga runs, even Kamui's.
IIRC the trick is enemies can be hit but don't take damage when they're too high up the screen, so that's why it works.

I never want Hellsinker week, the commentary will only disappoint. At best we'd be able to explain maybe 1/4 of what's going on, at worst it'd be people spouting off about how "epic" the game is and w/e.

Yeah that trick was discovered this summer.
Premiered at Wasshoi 2012. :)

Thanks for the feedback all, and keep it coming if anyone else hasn't spoke up. I'll certainly look here to gauge interest as we go along each week. STGW #12 is decided. It is Gradius V. Seahawk has a clean 1cc replay and he may also join for commentary with myself and Frenetic. Looking to go live Friday 11am, 12noon CST, time might change.

I might still have my old score-attack replay as well (Type 2) that won the Konami contest.

I'll second Night Raid, I feel like having even half an explanation of how that thing works would be a pretty legit service to the community.

Edit: Lol oops there was more than one page and I can't read topics apparently. Still, I think a Night Raid episode would be pretty dope.
