I would love to see a proper clear on Raystorm, complete with ongoing strategy discussion and techniques to survive the 5th boss.

Fantastic news!Rob wrote:It's a landslide, but might want to hold off on that one. If there isn't a better replay out there already, the old one I posted is sloppy and the video quality is poor. I've been playing a lot lately and aiming for a much better run that I could eventually provide, though. As for the voice talent, I'd like to hear someone who isn't me talk about the game (Randorama?).
And I can assure you, that your voice would be perfect for the Mars Matrix episode. Actually I wouldn't accept anyone else, you're the man. The one and only xoxak.
This episode could easily beat the Futari week. Make it happen.

Psyvariar episode would be amazing!
Re: STG Weekly #12: ??????
Just a suggestion, make a poll or just count the games and how many wants to see them and if there anyone that knows the game and can do commentary.
Then you have a list of games on demand and you have games for a couple of episodes ready. Don't know if it's a great suggestion but there you got it!

Except that really small title with the little girls in dresses casting spells with shiny bullets everywhere. I heard that one was popular!DJ Incompetent wrote:I've come to find these are unpopular things.

pssshh, Touhou is a whole different thing now. Branding!
Aren't there only like, three of those games people take seriously?
I'd like to see Clover.

This is the WR btw.

Re: STG Weekly #12: ??????
The point of STG Weekly, to my understanding, is to inform people about shmups. Sometimes that includes the history of the genre, sometimes that includes strategies for specific games, and sometimes that includes the mindset of superplayers. I see no reason why it shouldn't also inform people about lesser known games.DJ Incompetent wrote:I've come to find these are unpopular things.Giest118 wrote:Also, would you ever consider featuring doujin/freeware shmups on STG Weekly?
Re: STG Weekly #12: ??????
I'd like to see some Crimzon Clover too.
Re: STG Weekly #12: ??????
Yeah that surprised me a bit too, it's not in most Garegga runs, even Kamui's.pestro87 wrote:Eaglet wrote:480p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8bZ1UmI_IY
This is the WR btw.!!! I've never seen that stage 5 popcorn milking before, the one where Kamui milked that single green plane that was circling around her for a couple of minutes.
IIRC the trick is enemies can be hit but don't take damage when they're too high up the screen, so that's why it works.
Re: STG Weekly #12: ??????
I've never seen that either. That was impressive!pestro87 wrote:Eaglet wrote:480p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8bZ1UmI_IY

Re: STG Weekly #12: ??????
I never want Hellsinker week, the commentary will only disappoint. At best we'd be able to explain maybe 1/4 of what's going on, at worst it'd be people spouting off about how "epic" the game is and w/e.

Yeah that trick was discovered this summer.jepjepjep wrote:I've never seen that either. That was impressive!pestro87 wrote:Eaglet wrote:480p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8bZ1UmI_IY

Premiered at Wasshoi 2012.

+1 for Ibara
Re: STG Weekly #12: Gradius V
Thanks for the feedback all, and keep it coming if anyone else hasn't spoke up. I'll certainly look here to gauge interest as we go along each week. STGW #12 is decided. It is Gradius V. Seahawk has a clean 1cc replay and he may also join for commentary with myself and Frenetic. Looking to go live Friday 11am, 12noon CST, time might change.

I might still have my old score-attack replay as well (Type 2) that won the Konami contest.
Re: STG Weekly #12: ??????
hate to veer offtopic but
most of the games are valid really. 13 might be the exception.

I'll second Night Raid, I feel like having even half an explanation of how that thing works would be a pretty legit service to the community.
Edit: Lol oops there was more than one page and I can't read topics apparently. Still, I think a Night Raid episode would be pretty dope.
