My previous Rafute 2-ALL is 7th on the Leaderboard, so I guess I was asked in Japanese whether I wanted it uploaded. I pulled the stick left on every choice, so I guess I said "yes".

It would be good to have a Rafute 2-ALL replay from a Westerner to compliment NTSC-J's Ikuo replay. Just in case there are any budding Rafute players out there.

So - Yes, can you try and upload my DELx999 replay from the Leaderboards to Youtube?
Its more than 10mil behind what I should be getting, but still

Cheers,

DEL

What an incredible run, DEL! Big congrats on the 2-ALL score! :)

Big Thanks pestro87 for doing the 16 hour upload of my Rafute 2-ALL run.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua6lkK8J ... e=youtu.be

Quick rundown: 1st loop was poor - 156.9mil instead of my best - 171mil.
ST2-2 and ST2-3 were fine except I didn't leech the ST2-3 Boss, which I now do.
ST2-4 second half was a nightmare due to the very worst thing happening, which is losing your max medals on the plane rush :?
Final Stage 2-5 was strong.
I'll keep playing to add the 10 to 20mil that will come from a trouble-free run. But this 2nd loop always adds trouble

Thanks pestro87,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua6lkK8JTIw

Upon first glance, Stage 2-2 from 37mins onwards and final Stage 2-5 from 50mins onwards are probably worth a watch.
Now back to improving my runs...

Cheers,

Just had a better run - 307,114,870 - Rafute 2-ALL

I will ask pestro87 to upload this one to Youtube, because of some nonsense dodging I pulled in the run up to The Last Boss

Ok, as much as I wanted to wait for STGWeekly so you could explain all these things on stream... I have to ask.. is there any reason you weren't particularly aggressive with the trains? I usually try to save my laser for that segment to get a shitload of medals. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

We're gonna do the episode on Friday evening around 8-9pm CST. (Very early saturday morning for Soda (Sweden), and morning for NTSC-J (Japan)) :)

For as long as these replays are, watching at least one, this episode should be a great guide for MMP, I hope!

Sometimes you get a very short invencibility time that isn't triggered by bombing. It's most obvious in 40:36 - 40:37 on that video. How do you do that?

Man... I couldn't simpathyze more with Rafute when she said "Ikitaku nai"

It actually was the use of a bomb fragment. Take another look - I pick up the fragment and activate it instantly to make my escape. ST2-3 is full of this method. You'll see NTSC-J use it a lot on his run too.

My new run will be up tomorrow. Stage 2-5 will make you laugh. Some crazy dodges

We'll be live around 8:30pm CST tonight. About 7 hours from the time of this posting. In which we decide which meat rules them all, pork or beef? Rather, we look at a 2-ALL and explain the mechanics, scoring, tricks and techniques and various knowledge on Muchi Muchi Pork!

I stayed up till 4am-ish watching it, awesome run and very informative! I especially liked the conversation about japanese arcades and players . It created quite a nostalgic flashback for me from when I was in Tokyo over a decade ago. I NEED TO GO BACK! Thanks a ton NTSC-J and Aquas :D

Damn I couldn't catch it live, was doing some extra work on the side (gotta afford them games somehow!), but will definitely watch it on YouTube later.

Really liked this episode. Good job explaining character choices, holding fire in 2nd loop, etc. Do I need a piggy waifu to get this good? :P

I should probably give this game more time. All my MMP/PS time was spent on the Sweets side.

Watched it last night and enjoyed it a lot. I have the game for 360 but haven't really given it a try, but this video really created an itch. Played a single credit yesterday and got destroyed on stage 2

Damn you people for making it looks so easy.

Those kebabs weren't bad, and NTSC-J's commentary was interesting. We learnt about Ikuo's strong laser aura which basically saves 2 lives and 2-4 bombs on each Last Boss. No use for Rafute, but good to know for Ikuo runs.
Also learnt about the ST2-1 dense tank pattern triggered by not shooting the tank as you approach it. I think there's another way also, if you trigger the less dense round pattern, you can hold back & dodge that pattern and laser kill the second pattern which should be the dense pattern.

It's definitely helpful for some forms on the last boss (as well as taking out random enemies during the game), but in general the bosses should be much easier with Rafute because of her stronger lard attack and bomb (which also lasts longer). The problem with Rafute is that she does too much damage which makes it much harder to milk for extra points. I haven't really tried to figure out how to score with her, but it would be an interesting challenge.

I guess so. This is very true for the ST1 Boss.
I'm still playing a few credits of Rafute to get 320mil or more. I won't be stopping until then.

With regards to that dense pattern released by the ST2-1 mid boss. I'm not sure if not shooting it really triggers the dense pattern...?
If you take a look at my 307mil replay, I shoot the hell out of the tank and the dense pattern still comes out. Yet when I try the no shooting style I've been getting the less dense circle pattern.

You're right, you can still do damage to it and it will come out. So I'm not sure what triggers it. For me, it always comes out if I don't use the lard attack, but it might have to do with how much damage you do to it, where you hit it, and when you start firing. Or it's just completely random.
