STG Weekly #11: Muchi Muchi Pork

Post by Aquas »

Putting a call out for anyone who's knowledgable on MMP and wants to comment on a Muchi Muchi Pork 1-ALL run. I hear NTSC-J is the man on this game, eh eh? Wanna comment? Frenetic has been playing this game, so he knows a bit. I know little. Played it only a handful of credits.

Not sure what day we'll broadcast at this time. Will update here and twitter @stgweekly as I figure out stuff. Please PM me if you are interested in commenting with a skype id and we'll talk availability

Also, does anyone know where I can find a clean 1cc video of Einhander? with game audio and all? Thanks all. We're approaching 500 subscribers on the YT channel, spread the word!

Yea, I can do it. I'll need to figure out how to use skype first and maybe upload a better replay to the leaderboards.

Edit: How about doing a 2-ALL 1.01 instead of 1.00 1-ALL?

Great NTSC-J! I recommend 4.2 for an old Skype version. But whatever works really. Hit me up when you get some more details.

Awesome, looking forward to this one. I totally suck ass at surviving bosses long enough to milk, though.

Would like to see a 2-all if possible. Hopefully a commentator has knowledge about differences between pcb and port. I've been thinking of giving this game another try, only played it enough to get a 1-all in 1.01 back when the port first came out, definitely need to revisit it soon.

2-ALL is too long, and I would like to see your strategies on 1.00.

I just did a 1.01 run for the leaderboards and beat my score, so I would recommend we do that run. Its a bit long (70 minutes, maybe?) but I would feel a little strange commentating on a run that wasn't my own.

That's okay NTSC-J. We can use yours. Can you make a recording, then? Make it as good or better quality than http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8NtkUoK ... oA&index=2 and it's go.

I'm afraid I don't have the technology to do that, but maybe someone here can take the replay from the leaderboards and put it up somewhere?

Sure, I can do it :) I have a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 that can record in 1080.

EDIT: Ok, I've started recording it in 720 now. It's probably going to take about 12h to upload to Youtube. Let me know if you guys need it quicker and I'll stop the recording and decrease the quality to 480!

EDIT 2: I'm uploading the replay to Youtube now. The replay will be up on:

Really looking forward to it. MMP is so deceptively difficult I think, but a very nice game. Triggering the laser and get showered in those 10k medals is sooooo satisfying.

Please start this stream with playing the "Muchi Pork!" song while singing along during the refrain.

This episode will be delayed untill next weekend. I'm currently debating on taking a break week.

Does anyone know of a 1cc replay for Einhander that's good video quality?

If anyone has expressed interest in commenting on a specific run, and have the video of the run (whether it's yours or someone elses) and it's good quality, please PM me. It'd be good to have anyone interested to do something for the show, ready to request for the show. Any good videos of games you're requesting are great too.

Bummer :( You've been very consistent with the podcast so far though so a little break is well deserved imo! I expect the show to be back in "full shmups" later on 8)

NTSC-J's replay is up on Youtube now in case you want to use it.

So are you saying that the replays can be taken straight off the leaderboards??

If this is the case, then I'll punt-on a bit and put up a better Rafute 2-ALL on the Leaderboard. It won't live up to NTSC-J's 332mil, but I'll be interested in getting it uploaded onto Youcube.

You will be asked to upload your replay to youtube if you get a score that's within the top 20 (or something like that...). If you say "yes" then anyone will be able to download your replay. I can record and upload yours as well if you want me to? :)

pestro87 - Yes that would be an awesome favour :)
My previous Rafute 2-ALL is 7th on the Leaderboard, so I guess I was asked in Japanese whether I wanted it uploaded. I pulled the stick left on every choice, so I guess I said "yes".

It would be good to have a Rafute 2-ALL replay from a Westerner to compliment NTSC-J's Ikuo replay. Just in case there are any budding Rafute players out there.

So - Yes, can you try and upload my DELx999 replay from the Leaderboards to Youtube?
Its more than 10mil behind what I should be getting, but still

Cheers,

My strategies for 1.00 are largely the same as with 1.01, but I'll be talking about the differences between the modes as well as with the PCB.

Your replay is on the leaderboards (notice the little paperclip icon next to your character).

Perfect. Because I learned that Akraten's replay, while not being a 2-ALL, is played in a completely different style; making use of tons of lives unlike the 2-ALL which you are required to no-miss to reach in the first place.

Not quite No Miss, but keeping lives high on the 2nd Loop is always advisable. The second loop of Pork looks cutesy and colourful, but the last 2 stages are nasty & require high life stock to milk the Last Boss and indeed  survive.
