Gamecube Star Soldier
Gamecube Star Soldier
Am i right in thinking that the Gamecube version of Star Soldier is the same one that appeared on the PS2 as part of Hudson's retro series ??
Shoot, dodge, collect . . .it's the ONLY way to be !!
Yes you are.

Very slight differences though - on the psp version you can select from two ships, and I think I remember seeing a different background on one of the psp levels also - but it's mainly the game game, as mentioned.
I think it's a pretty good game, fast paced and good length (10 levels). Very challenging if you crank up the difficulty.
Works fine with a freeloader.....

Don't just dodge bullets, dance around them.

He mentioned the PS2 version, not PSP.postman wrote:Very slight differences though - on the psp version you can select from two ships, and I think I remember seeing a different background on one of the psp levels also - but it's mainly the game game, as mentioned.
Great game on all three systems.

It has the flawed autofire which is probably the same in GC version - that is, holding the firebutton down results in weaker shots. To get the proper firepower you need to hammer the button.bcass wrote:Does the PS2 version have auto-fire? Hammering the buttons on any joypad is a chore, which is the only thing I dislike about the GC version.
It would easily be one of my favourite shmups if not for that. I actually bought a third-party controller with autofire just to get around it so I can enjoy the game.
