Let's all watch warmly the days until the end of the current year.

Along the lines of "bonus" or "extra". It looks like they kept the omake boss in the full version, but it's no longer referred to as such. I'm also hoping that ∀lternative ∀rguments mode is also included, but I'm not holding my breath.Lord Satori wrote:what does omake mean anyway?
also the game looks GREAT! I'll have to check it out.
Well, in the PV at 1:04, if you pause at the correct frame, you can see it say BLOOM! the same way it said OMAKE! when the boss is shown.Aisha wrote:Along the lines of "bonus" or "extra". Looks like 1000円 if you get it directly from the circle at the convention, and 1470円 if you buy it from the shops, which don't ship overseas.BPzeBanshee wrote:Yeah, I'm hoping for Alternative Arguments as well, that mode was radical.
Definitely looking forward to this. I'm useless at reading Japanese but is there a listed price for this yet?
I swear if this game gets shit on launch purely because of comparison to HELLSINKER I'll lose all faith in this forum.
Well, the connection is the trippiness of both games. AkashicVerse is like an exagerated version of Hellsinker.mauve wrote:Ever since I started poking at HS, unrelated people were telling me how much this game seems similar to it, and, frankly speaking, I just don't see it?
It's stylish and sharp and all but the gameplay seems pretty different.

Oh yeah, the game is awesome by itself, no doubt about that, but the shadow of HELLSINKER is too big and in the end, a lot of people relate it to Akashic.BPzeBanshee wrote:Some can of worms huh? I guess we'll find out just how good it really is when it gets released in January (or New Year's Eve for those in Japan).
I just don't want this game to be looked down upon and remembered as "that doujin that's trying to be Hellsinker but isn't as good", because clearly this game is unique in itself, and going from the trials it's already quite good. I'm hoping they've expanded on the trial in regards to the Omake bosses, and that there may be a Alternative Arguments version either included on Launch or released in some form later in the future - with those aside I can't really say anything wrong about this, except that maybe a change of resolution option for widescreen monitors with no 4:3 adjustment built-in would be nice.
Then, we'll get some old shmupers complayning (probably me and more peopleBPzeBanshee wrote:The shadow of Hellsinker is indeed large now, but who's to say this game won't have a bit of a legacy some years down the track? I will have a chuckle for sure if a doujin gets made in 5 or 10 years time and this forum's otakus of the future try to compare it to Akashicverse because it "looks similar".
The C82 trial is the latest trial and the AConfig.exe packaged with it doesn't seem to have any option related to 16:9 support, but I could be overlooking it because it's mostly written in kanji and I'm too tired to deal with that right now. In fact, the config application is exactly the same as the one packaged with the older web trial that's currently available for download. I don't see a 16:9 option in the game's options menu either.Observer wrote:The bottom line is that I care about seeing more STGs being made more than anything else.If they take inspiration on the truly great ones, even better!
By the way, these guys first worked on a visual novel so they had quite the genre shift. I'm glad they are delivering this.
I'm gonna ask about 16:9 support, did anyone check the latest trial? Wasn't an option regarding this added?
Anyway:

Actually, judging from the demo, this game has a pretty good chance at excelling Hellsinker. It's basically what Radio Zonde would be if it was finished, and I've always liked RZ as much as HS, if not more. It's hard, it has great music, it's heavy on stratgy but still demands basic bullet dodging skill to 1cc. Unless the creator managed to screw up the last few stages, I think the final product should be at least as good as HS, if not better.BPzeBanshee wrote:The shadow of Hellsinker is indeed large now, but who's to say this game won't have a bit of a legacy some years down the track? I second this. I'm really looking forward to this game myself.Subterranean Sun wrote:Actually, judging from the demo, this game has a pretty good chance at excelling Hellsinker. We'll only have to wait and see. In any case, this won't have anything to do with Hellsinker even if it's a better game than it.BPzeBanshee wrote:That's certainly possible too. I'm not swaying to either side (+/-) at the moment until I get a hold of the full game though, that way I can do my best to play this with an open mind and not some pre-conceived idea of what game this game will be like, other than what I experienced in the Web trial.
Now this has peaked my interest. I haven't actually tried Radio Zonde myself so I guess I'll look into that game sometime down the road then.Subterranean Sun wrote:Actually, judging from the demo, this game has a pretty good chance at excelling Hellsinker.
