Feedback on limp'n'gun game for xbox (shameless plug)

Post by mice »

I can't really say run'n'gun, since he's limping...

Any feedback appreciated!
I'm working on an update with a character selection screen to remedy some peoples wishes to be more light footed.

When a I read your topic I would have sworn that were talking about BLEED.

Bleed is quite nice. I have to try Heavy recoil though....

EDIT: any my sincere apologies for not realizing that Heavy recoil is YOUR game!

Is this one of those games where your mech controls like a ton of bricks, and most of the game's challenge is in controlling it?

Wish I could try this, but my 360 isn't hooked up at the moment .. :(

Seems to be what a lot of people think, yes.
Just like Oscar, right? Then I'm perfectly fine with it. :)

It's not too bad. A tad simplistic and the bosses I've encountered so far (two, I think) were easy, but I'd say it's worth the 80 MS points. Would be cool to have an alternative character that's more fast-paced, though.

Reminds me of Psycho-Nics Oscar a bit.

Thanks!
The title gradient is the first of a long list of Oscar homages. And the Green Beret homage list is even longer.
Update to hit 1st week of 2013. If all goes well. Contra fans might even like it then. :)

Played the trial and purchased :)

Seems like a solid game, looking forward to seeing more of it.

Thank you so much!
The faster character update I'm working on is kind of nice...actually. I never thought that it would be.

Update available now. Yay!
(to be honest, it's quite a bit more fun with the new character...)

Gave it a go, the new character is a nice addition. Good job.

If there's one request I'd like to make, it's to have a proper autofire button. What's currently there is a decent enough compromise between having to tap for every single shot and being able to just hold down the button, but personally I prefer the latter and having to "tap...tap...tap...tap..." constantly doesn't really bring anything to the game, in my opinion. If you don't want people to hold down the fire button all the time, it should be encouraged in-game to stop shooting for a while - like it already is with grenades, it's easier to use them effectively with a well-timed button press.

This whole mess is because of someone elses opinion. It's a compromise gone bad.
From now on, if I end up in a similar situation I'll just tell them to talk to you. Ok? :D
(just removed the idiotic semi-autofire logic as I wrote this, thanks, I feel relieved!)
