Pure profiteering, baby! Even card and coin collectors have a case to be made that there is some official agreement on grading and pricing practices. VGA has no oversight or market input, so it's whatever the fuck they feel like pricing things at.

I've noticed that a lot lately. It seems like a lot of people have been fake bidding lately. I've noticed some super common items go for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, will all bidders having "0" feedback.

I'll never know if it was this game I missed out on for about 8 bucks. Before I knew what it was I could have swore I saw it at a local shop. Now I'll never know. Man, I think I'm gonna have to drop out of the American "retro" game market. This shit is getting absurd way too fast.

Same dude has a Flintstone's Dinosaur Peak at about the same price. A friend of mine sold hers about 2 years ago for about a 1/3 of that cost. I've been seeing ripped label ones go for 300+, even.

Playing Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has given me a jolt of Dreamcast nostalgia. In particular, I've become curious about Samba de Amigo. I believe the UK version with maracas retailed for about £99 back in the day, but check this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samba-de-Amig ... 1155540248

£999 for a sealed PAL copy, and from the look of it the maracas/sensors aren't included. Good luck playing it without those. Looking back at previous listings, the seller had this up for £1,299 last week. Wow, he's practically giving it away now!

Meanwhile, another PAL copy that did include all the accessories went for £96 a couple of days ago. So, one of these sellers has clearly taken too many maraca blows to the head.

Meanwhile, the Wii version (admitedly a busted port) goes for £7 new.
