Why have I never thought about doing this for all the cool smoking stuff!?

Except zippos don't work too nice with joints; kinda messes up the flavor.

I was the guy that took that picture... I know the seller of course, he brought them to my garage to test them all. Didn't know he was selling them again, and I guess he believes they will be revived soon judging by the price...

Awesome. Or you could buy this other new copy for $89 (which would still be rather high for a game that cost about $20 a few years ago):

I'm just flabbergasted how people are mislead into believing: "Oh, this import has a rating of VGA 90, and it's sealed and new, $1,199.99 is worth it!". Also who the hell created the idea of VGA ratings?

Soon as it gets shipped...$80 Mystic Riders. +$30 S (and hopefully &H).

Who is selling these graded games?

Pure profiteering, baby! Even card and coin collectors have a case to be made that there is some official agreement on grading and pricing practices. VGA has no oversight or market input, so it's whatever the fuck they feel like pricing things at.

I think it's fake bidding. Notice the bidders are all under 10 feedback. None of those games are worth more than 15 bucks, as far as I'm aware.

Da, f**q?

How can someone even think to bid such an outrageous amount for those.

A failed attempt at fake bidding, that;s for sure.

I've noticed that a lot lately. It seems like a lot of people have been fake bidding lately. I've noticed some super common items go for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, will all bidders having "0" feedback.

I'll never know if it was this game I missed out on for about 8 bucks. Before I knew what it was I could have swore I saw it at a local shop. Now I'll never know. Man, I think I'm gonna have to drop out of the American "retro" game market. This shit is getting absurd way too fast.

Same dude has a Flintstone's Dinosaur Peak at about the same price. A friend of mine sold hers about 2 years ago for about a 1/3 of that cost. I've been seeing ripped label ones go for 300+, even.

Playing Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has given me a jolt of Dreamcast nostalgia. In particular, I've become curious about Samba de Amigo. I believe the UK version with maracas retailed for about £99 back in the day, but check this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samba-de-Amig ... 1155540248

£999 for a sealed PAL copy, and from the look of it the maracas/sensors aren't included. Good luck playing it without those. Looking back at previous listings, the seller had this up for £1,299 last week. Wow, he's practically giving it away now!

Meanwhile, another PAL copy that did include all the accessories went for £96 a couple of days ago. So, one of these sellers has clearly taken too many maraca blows to the head.

Meanwhile, the Wii version (admitedly a busted port) goes for £7 new.

I sure hope that the retro game collecting craze dies down a bit, this is getting ridiculous.
from the looks of it, it's going to keep growing like some nasty tumor :(

Seems like that'd be the easiest game ever to rip off sealed game collectors. "It's not the nintendo seal, because they just used shrinkwrap."

thats exactly what I was thinking when I saw it.
maybe I should drop out of school and just start shrink wrapping 25 year old games and make a fortune off them.

Even better, shrinkwrap empty cases. And put a turd inside the cases.
