Rotating the screen on sega NNC

Post by safetyboy »

How hard is this to do, can it be done by one person or should I have an extra hand to help.

It's easy to do and can be done by a single person - but the monitor is heavy..... i've done it a number of times.

Cheers I shall give it a go later, can't find any info online.

do I have to disconnect any cables? Or is it just lift and twist?

If I'm being honest I can't remember, but I suspect I disconnected the VGA and PWR leads from the side of the chassis - but I'm not sure you need to bother.

I think you rotate CW iirc.

Key tip is to use some gloves to save the frame ripping your hands apart! ;)

With the blast, I have to take the CP off to get close enough to do it by my self. I know not an option with the NAC. Some people have reported that laying the cab on its back makes it a piece of cake.

With my Blast City, I lay the cab on it's back and it's a piece of cake... well, not that easy, but still 100% easier than if it was standing up. An average person is not going to be able to rotate a 27'" screen on a upright cab.

i read somewhere that it's easier with a nnc / naomi to lay it down forward, with the screen on some cloth / pillow.

I mustered all my strength when I did my Egret 3.

I mean, the expense of replacing a broken tube/chassis gave me the powwerrrrrr.
