I have the DSi XL and will never go back to the normal size. So much easier on the eyes. Waiting for a few critical titles to come out on the 3DSXL before picking it up.

I'm actually not sure what game to get next, as in nothing looks too enticing (yet). I'm far beyond mislaid with games anymore, I don't know what to look for. :/

Are there any Strategy games out or are going to be released soon? Or perhaps, DS strategy games (besides Advanced Wars) I should look into?
Fire Emblem is coming out early-ish next year.

There`s also Civilization Revolution and two Age of Empires games. Anno: Create a New World is a truly spectacular title too although it`s more of a city building sim with some combat thrown into the mix than a pure strategy game. All the games are for the DS, by the way.

Oh, missed that he was looking for DS games too. Knights in the Nightmare is awesome if completely perplexing.

Too bad the DS version of the fantastic PC strategy Disciples II never materialized. I was really looking forward to it.

Knights in the Nightmare is much better on PSP, if you happen to have one.

I would have thought a game like Knights in the Knightmare it would be essential to have a touchscreen. I've never been able to figure out how they could possibly port the game without that feature. Videos I watch don't convince me, anyhow!

I'm considering selling my PAL 3DS XL and getting a US one, question: can an NTSC model link up to a PAL model to play multiplayer? Say, on Mario Kart if you both have the cart for example.

I'm not sure about the 3DS, but I know for sure all DS/DSi models can.

I'm leaning towards yes, as I play in regional/international Pokemon tournaments and I have not heard of any troubles linked to hardware with European, Asian, and North American models being unable to play against one another. However, I'm not sure about 3DS exclusive games.

Speaking of which, are GB, GBC and GBA games linkable between regions? I have Dynablaster and Bomber Boy - the same game on each cart, just different names - but no second GBA to try out the multiplayer. I'm about to buy one with a backlit screen and would like to know whether looking for second carts of specific regions is relevant, or any region will do (provided the game isn't substantially altered).

Etrian Odyssey 4 just announced for US release! Suddenly the 3DS becomes a contender. Let the Atlus carpet bombing commence.

I picked up a 3DS XL today for this. I sold my DS lite quite a while back so I figured I'd grab one now to play some older games on while I wait.

I really hope they're gonna release the Circle Pad XL soon. There are two games I really want to play as soon as possible and that's Resident Evil Revelations (the better RE6 :D) and Kid Icarus Uprising. So far I only played Mario 3D Land. I am also very eager to play Ocarina Of Time, never played the original. But as long as it's uncertain that Majora's Mask will be on the 3DS too, I am lacking motivation.

I'm also interested in Kingdom Hearts. But I never played one of those games before. Some reviews said that the story is almost incomprehensible, is that true?

It gets really fun when you import it, it's published by Atlus in the US.

You'll be supporting the company that recently convinced Sony into allowing region locking on their systems.

I'm in exactly the same boat, I expected it to be out by now. Definitely go with Ocarina though, you won't regret it. With the addition of Master Quest and the prospect of playing for 100% completion, it'll keep you busy for a good while and who knows, maybe MM 3D will have been announced by then.

If this is true and Atlus is pro-region-locking, then it's probably for the best, quite honestly. I am prepared for outrage and mockery here, but I see now that we have been a little naive about this.

*sighs* Here we go again. I'm not convinced that Atlus is pro-region locking. This was specifically for P4A, and there were apparently some reasons directly associated with that game that pushed them toward a region lock. I mean, it isn't hard to imagine them saying, look, P4A being a fighting game means fighting game fans will import the the game before we can release an English version, cutting down on the sales, even jeopardizing the English release as a whole. I don't know if that makes them pro-region locking, or just overly defensive.

It makes them greedy assholes. Persona 4 Arena still hasn't been released in Europe, while American and Japanese players have had a headstart of several months, thus eliminating the possibility of fair international competition in the future. There is no justification for this total disregard of their fanbase; it's not like Billions of people would have imported the game, in the process making Atlus lose Trillions due to pricing differences in different territories brought forth by greed (aka consumer milking).
