After looking at those threads and all of these answers, I feel like I'm really a noob...

Yes, I know. I'm a noob shmupper. Very noob...
But at least I don't need to be an immediate pro in bullet hells just to prove that I love them.

Ok, so I've worked my around to this area of the project again, with some new questions.

Right now it's looking like the vertical cabinet should have support for Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2 (for PS1 games as well), and XBox 360, and MAME of course.

I can leave some extra slots open for other systems in terms of a/v and controls, so I can add most of the other systems I mentioned earlier if need be. It looks like I won't need to, but I'll have the option.

Only exceptions are: I'm definitely ruling out NES, which would require an NTSC decoder (video processor) because it can't output RGB, which my switching circuit requires; also ruling out Genesis, because it requires it's own controller PCB, it's not compatible with the MC Cthulhu. This stuff will be included in the horizontal cab but it looks like there's no point on the vertical.

The other system I'm considering ruling out is the Wii, which would also need its own special provision. Correct me if I'm wrong (and I hope I am), but don't you have use the Wii-mote to navigate and get into games? This requires integrating the sensor bar into the cabinet, so I'm only going to do that with the horizontal cab if it's not worth it on the vertical.

Do you need the Wii-mote capability?

What vertical games would I even need it for?

For disc games, all I know of so far is Shikigami III, and isn't there a region free Japanese release of that on 360? For virtual console games, I'd rather play it on the original console or MAME anyways. Any virtual console vertical exclusives?

My last question's a little different so I thought it should have another thread.

How many buttons should a vertical cabinet have?
